Why did you have to post that you were too tired to think? You could have just posted tomorrow when you could think...

Too difficult for you? OK some clues.
* One of the members of the rock band that did this track went on to be part of another rock band called ELP.
* This track is the "rockification" of a famous 1961 Leonard Bernstein song in quite a different genre. The words were removed, the above lyrics added, and part of the New World Symphony included for keyboard!

Thanks to those clues, I can exclusively reveal that the "song" you mean is America by The Nice. This is the product of the internet and I claim no kudos for having found same. But at least the rap boys and girls may have a chance of posting here soon.

I'm afraid that I'm going to do another one like my last, although this time it is an integral part of the song.

"... Cook County sheriff Richard Ogleby...."

Good luck! :D

I'll let someone else have a go first. If no one's got it by this time tomorrow I'll post the answer.:D

Paul Simon, 7 o'clock News/Silent Night

Did he do that song with a bunch of other people?

Next:
<b>"Pete Wilson trying to see us all broke...."</b>

Not a person who knows the answer? Hmm, I'll give another phrase that comes a few seconds after it.

<b>Out for everything they ow'</b>

Woohoo! Stormerne. Now, I'm 99.99% sure you did that with a search engine. Am I right? ;) Next is yours. (next time I won't take 2pac anymore;).

P.S. Makavelli would've been better, he named himself Makavelli (after Machiavelli) in that (last) period of his life.

Of course I did it with a search engine. It's far too recent for me to have had any affection for the track! But I did leave it 24 hours before answering to allow others to jump in. I was surprised no one did.

OK, a bit of mischief now.

Who did this one first?
What was the track?
What does it mean?
Why was it famous?

"Entre mes reins"

If i hadn't already used my nomiation, i'ld vote you for the CFCs funniest person.

OK clue time.
* The first and second times this track was recorded, it was a sung as a duet.
* And I'll tell you why it was famous: the second time this track was recorded it was banned from being broadcast on BBC radio and television. This was embarassing for the British national broadcaster as it reached no.1 in the singles charts!

I believe the answer is Jane Birkin-- "Je t'aime moi non plus"

I hope this is the right answer.
:)

P.S. I found this on a search engine(i'm not that old!!!):goodjob:

Hi Dexter. You're pretty close! :)

You got the name of track right. :goodjob:
You got the artist wrong. :(

Jane Birkin was one half of the duet that recorded it second time round, the one that was banned but still got to no.1. But she didn't sing on the original recording. So who did? (Clue: Famous filmstar) And who was the other side of the duet? :scan:

And was does the line mean in English?

Time to break out the search engine again

Brigitte Bardot and Serge Gainsbourg - "Je t'aime moi non plus"

And the translation: Between My Kidneys!!

Here's the full song translated...
I like you Oh, yes I like you! Me either oh, my love... As the indecisive wave I go, I go and I come Between your kidneys And I keep myself I like you, I like you Oh, yes I like you Me either Oh my love... you are the wave, me the nude island You go and you come Between my kidneys You go and you come Between my kidneys And I rejoin you I like you, I like you Me either oh, my love... As the indecisive wave I go, I go and I come Between your kidneys And I keep myself You go and you come Between my kidneys You go and you come Between my kidneys And I rejoin you I like you, I like you Oh, yes I like you Me either Oh my love Physical love is without exit I go and I come Between your kidneys I go and I come And I keep myself No! Now! Come!

Weird!!!
:goodjob:
