Tufts? They rejected me. I got into Rutgers and Boston University. And Fairleigh Dickinson but that doesn't count cuz they suck. Rutgers gave me the scholarship, Boston didn't so Rutgers got me.

You should major in philosophy! Rutgers has one of the top three philosophy departments in the whole wide world! Better than Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Cambridge, etc.!

I'd like to be able to feed myself when I graduate.

Thats what graduate school is for! C'mon don't just be another lame Indian Engineering student!!!

Not engineering. I suck at math. Not interested in the sciences either. My major is undeclared right now. I was thinking an Eco or Business major.

I briefly considered history but it hurts my heart to pay to learn things I already know. As for philosophy I'm tired of making up BS. I had enough of that in TOK.

Both economics and several areas of business school require math. Quite a bit of it at the masters level.

Economics undergraduate is mind-numbingly easy, so you could double major in that and philosophy. Business majors are rightfully considered a joke.

1 semester of calc, 1 semester of stats I just need a C and apparently it doesn't count toward my GPA.

What benefit do I get from majoring in philosophy anyway?

Personal fulfillment, for starters

Rant - I slept through my classes again :( I really can't afford to do this to my grade. I'm not confident enough in my test-taking skills to bet everything on the midterms and final, I need to get those participation and assignment points. Not to mention I'm really far behind in Economics now.

Laughing at idiots on CFC when they try to comment on philosophy.
it is my philosophy to do that anyway :p

anyway... stupid Chem is driving me insane.... I FRIGGIN' HATE SIG FIGS SOOOO MUCH!!!!

I mean... I understand them perfectly, which makes me KNOW they are pointless and counter intuitive.

they make me so angry to a ridiculous degree

Web-Assign?

Web-Assign?

seeing as I've got no idea what that is... I'm gunna' say no

I'm just talking about my stupid Honors Chem class (high school)
like one of my last problems with sig figs

800+40,000+2000=40,000

seriously... that is messed up... not to mention if you didn't use sig figs until the end (which you aren't supposed to do) you'd end up rounding to 50,000 (for the nearest ten thousand)

they're just so stupid

Web-Assign is awful, and makes Honors Chemistry even worse than it was. Believe me, I went through both last year. I really don't mind Sig Figs that much, except when I get points taken off on my tests for something ridiculously stupid, like not using the correct sig. figs for an answer because one of the numbers not shown (one you calculated or a constant) was 2 figures. I've lost a total of about 10 points in Chemistry and Physics for those trivial mistakes.

I don't look forward to using sig figs ever. All the stupid rules that in the end, really don't make sense for what is the reasoning behind sig figs.

If ever I become a prominent man in science... I'm going to make a push to get rid of sig figs

Arabic is very hard.

It's not the grammar that is difficult, I can get that easily enough. I've always been bad at vocabulary, though, I was when I studied German, too. I didn't need flashcards for German, since the words, for the most part, I could contextualize by sounding like either an English word (hund= dog, easy enough) or word from another language I knew (Bibliothek, for instance, is the same word in the Romance languages: Bibliotheque, i.e. library). I've been late to hop on the bandwagon with flashcards, but I hope they work. I also hope I don't grow dependent of having the pronounciation written below the Arabic. I can pronounce the Arabic proper, but I have to sound it out, I want to be able to just look at a word and know it, rather than map it out, and then realize "oh, hey, that's hamza! I know that!"

That I'm not interested? How do you know? Mind reading device?

You're a human being. I seriously doubt dissatisfaction and pain are your life's goals.

You'd be surprised at some people....Also personal fulfillment doesn't come from philosophy. It comes from drugs, sex, money, and things like that. Those are the real things that make life worth living not pseudo-philosophical BSing.
