JURY DUTY UPDATE:
So, I got up at 7:00 this morning (two hours earlier than usual; midnight bedtime), showered, shaved, combed my hair nice and neat, and put on my suit for the big day in court. I drive downtown, park and head into the courthouse just before the 8:30 sign-in deadline. We sit down and are made to watch a rather trite video about how important/fun/inspiring jury duty is, etc. Like I said, trite, but helpful for a first-timer such as myself. After the video ends, we get a ten-minute break while we wait for the bailiff. Only it wasn't ten minutes. It was more like half an hour. Several people lost money in the nearby vending machines during the wait. I read a bicycling magazine from a nearby rack and drank a cup of terribly bland coffee; they didn't even seem to have tried to make it decent. Finally the bailiff shows up, and takes attendance. We get herded up to the third floor of the courthouse where we are stopped, and then told to go ahead and wait back downstairs in the jury pool again. I resume my interrupted magazine article. Ten minutes later, both the bailiff and the judge come down and the judge explains to us that the defendant decided to change his plea to guilty at the last minute. So we were all dismissed. It was now about 10:00 AM and I didn't have to miss any work at all, as it turned out. I'll get $15 plus 44 cents per mile I had to drive in about two weeks time just for showing up (would have been $40 if I actually wound up serving on the jury), and don't have to worry about getting called up again for another two years. Not a bad deal in the end. Still, a lot of fuss over nothing, as it turned out. Oh well.

AW DAMN IT my Xlolsux 360 RRoD'ed on me just as I was about to play Fable 2! 
Other people might say Fable wasn't even good but I question their sexuality and their mothers virtue as I enjoyed the first one and bought Fable 2 on the assumption that I would at least be playing it within 4-6 hours of initial purchase.
