I just read this, and now i'm pissed.

An American schoolteacher has been charged after allegedly feeding a sick puppy to a snapping turtle in front of his students.

The incident sparked rival petitions for and against Mr Crosland, who has taught at Preston Junior High School for a number of years.

One calling for him to be fired and asking "Do we really want teachers killing living animals in front of impressionable junior high students?" has attracted nearly 190,000 signatures.

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) said Mr Crosland was "a bully who should not be allowed near impressionable young people".

A counter "We Support Crosland" petition urging people "to show our support for the man that taught us science in a new way and truly loves his job" so far has attracted more than 3,700 signatures, many from colleagues, ex-students and members of the local community.

Some of his supporters say the puppy was dying and it was the right thing to do.

Reduced, yes, maybe (depends exactly on how you define the word ‘reduce’) but never reverse it. This would agree with my (limited) understanding of relativity. Time can be slowed but not reversed.

relativity is something else

time can't be slowed because it's a dimention and not a size (I think buah)

It only makes sense to say that an object can appear to have slowed time from the perspective of another object (that is, it's relative)

Like here's the thing, I've studied this (both relativity and entropy), but it's been a while and so I'm kinda terrified of getting something wrong but

this is so like

rubbish

there are ways to measure changes using other things than entropy, disgarding it entierly. Entropy is not the only thing that changes as a function of time

Additionally, time is very clearly a dimension, right. It can be measured in both seconds and meters (I don't remember the conversion rate, lol)

Entropy, for the record, is measuered in J/K

I really hope someone who's better at this than me won't say I've gotten it all wrong :s

Well, this was mentioned in an interview for his upcoming (as of today unreleased IIRC) book on the subject, where I hope he can clarify.

Not sure why you had to test for STDs, though. I think you are being way too nervous.

No, do not have the results yet, and my doctor is closed next week . And the reason for the tests are me recurrently succumbing to sore throats and colds. The mentioned STDs are strong risk factors for that. So seems also relevant right now ^^.

I switched my phone's internal storage to an SD card and went through the formatting and moving process. Downloaded an app through the Play Store and it installed onto the SD card.

All future attempts are trying to install it on the phone's HD, which is full, and therefore not letting me. Neat.

You cannot move Apps to an SD card on older Android versions, you might want to check that.

And just move movies and pictures to the SD card, way easier .

Afaik, a lot of reptiles/amphibians eat live prey exclusively (not sure if this applies to snapping turtles though).
While I wouldn't have a heart to feed a puppy to someone myself, I don't think he is a horrible person for doing this.

This little boy was close to his 3rd bday. his mom thought of the wonderful idea to give him strawberries on his bday cake. Little boy, mind you only 2 years old, watered them for weeks.

The day before his birthday, mother said: I will make you a yummie cake with your strawberries.

Next day they walk out in their little garden, and all strawberries are gone!

Someone jumped the fence and killed a little boys dreams.

Considering that it's a violation of animal cruelty laws not to get veterinary help for a sick domestic animal, yes, he is a horrible person.

Look, I'm very much against animal cruelty (or senseless cruelty of any kind), but predators are animals too. And they need to eat something.

Then let them eat wild prey. What would this turtle normally eat - mice? Then a mouse should have been used.
