FRIGGIN ICE CUBES
By Perfection

WHY IN THIS MODERN AGE DON'T WE HAVE CHEAP PLASTIC COVERED ICE CUBES? MY DRINKS KEEP GETTING WATERED DOWN UNECCARILY. SHOULD A MAN BE FORCED TO ALWAYS TRADE OF BETWEEN REFRESING COLDNESS AND FLAVOR INTENSITY? I SAY SCREW SOCIETY FOR NOT PROVIDING ME WITH CHEAP PLASTIC COVERED ICE CUBES AND FORCING ME TO DRINK WATERED DOWN BEVERAGES.

I like to eat ice cubes, plastic ones would take away from this joy of mine.

You can always take the anti-ice-cube way out, and use a can of every beverage in your house to make beverage cubes. I know someone who is addicted to coke cubes.
That's a pain in the butt

Wouldn't the plastic make your drink taste bad?
Not if it's the right kind of plastic.

you could get regular ice on the side.

Why do high schoolers smoke? Seriously, by god, if you're going to kill yourself slowly, at least wait until you're legal. You're not cool because you smoke, you don't feel good, no one cares if you smoke or not. Jesus.

In many places (most, I'd say), you're legal in high school.

There are still relatively few things more pathetic than seeing some student smoking a cigarette (or weed) in the stairwell or in the bathroom of a high school.

Its difficult to find a good place to smoke weed though. But smoking in the bathrooms in pretty pointless I mean you have to smoke it it a minute you can' even enjoy it.....

No? I graduated before I was eighteen, the legal age to both buy and use cigarettes.

I was under the impression there was a whole set of anachronistic laws where its legal to use it at 16 but not buy till 18 and not buy for someone else under 18 or something ridiculous like that.

In canada (or at least Ontario) you must be 19 to buy cigarettes, 16 to smoke it, yet it is a very serious crime to give/sell a cigarette to anyone under 19.

WTH?

People aged 16 through 19 can only smoke if they find it. So maybe some easter egg hunts for smokes are in order.

Exactly, you don't give it to them. You have to leave them on the table and look away, then you're allowed to look there again only after the person below 19 "found" them there, for them to "find" them without you "giving" them to you. These stupid laws... :shake:

Thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster that I live in a country where no one follows the law.

Thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster that I live in a country where no one follows the law.

And luckily, so do I!

(I'm talking about this law, which is not enforced; if they'd ban minors from consuming alcohol and cigarettes, or enforce the laws about purchasing them, the sales would go down probably by half or so...)

The law is enforced wherever possible.

However, why in their right mind would a 16 year old legally smoking rat out a 19+ y/o who gave it to them?

They wouldn't.

So unless the adult is incredibly stupid, or the kid is a jerk, nobody gets caught.

I know convenience store owners (from vietnam usually, 99% foreign, though 1 or 2 native canadians as well) who sell to minors anyways.

Then you're simply unlucky, I guess living in Canada has many disadvantages too :p

100% of the stores I know sold me anything I wasn't allowed to buy at my age with no questioning. :)

I guess its a good thing I never smoked.

Alcohol on the other hand...

Supermarkets like Loblaws and Dominion sell coolers to ANYONE (as long as they are less than 5% alcohol).

LCBO and the Beer Store actually care about your age.

However, university students didn't, and would take a bottle as a 'bribe' for buying a 2-4.
