Okay, for me... sick of being in such a minority as far as Christians go. I'm a non-literalist, open interpretation, give science a chance, God loves more than he condemns, take into account history, let culture speak into your religion, be as receptive and enquiring about other people's ideas as possible... surrounded by conservative, literalist, fundamentalist us vs the world bunch who seem to feel they have a monopoly on God, life, spirituality and everything...

Where's the church of common sense and a fair go??

Number 1: A test today in about an hour and a half (I did study for) but the prof didn't tell me the number of problems on it (she posted a review test on her website, 113 problems), but this still doesn't help.

Number 2: My group members in my Systems Analysis class "volunteered" me to come in Friday to work on one of our little projects. This sucks as I usually have no classes on Friday and start work at noon.
School is about 33 miles from my house to the West, work about 20 miles to the East of my house. Thus I will have to drive 30 miles to school, work on the project, 50 miles back to work, and then 20 miles home. :suicide:

Number 3: Having a numerically and technologically superior army (with excellent equipment, and had a more skilled family member commanding) vs a smaller, less advanced, and poorly equipped army (that doesn't have a family member commanding it at all), and getting my a$$ handed to me not once, not twice, but three times in the span of one turn (playing as Egypt in Rome: Total War).

The bloody principal screwed me over for not wearing proper uniform on non-uniform day. WTH is wrong with him? I mean seriously, what the hell is "Corprate Day" he said that my clothes weren't "corprate"

Today's rant is about political correctness making it so you can't keep score in kids' sports because then one team might think they were the "loser":

A few years ago, my boys had starting taking karate, and they wanted to go with their dojo and compete in a tournament. They would compete based on belt, which is fair. I have done martial arts, so I thought the tournament would actually be about competition; at their lower belt levels, this is more about form and technique and not about actual combat yet.

So we get there and there are about 100 kids there, and a table with about 150 trophies of different size. As it turns out, every kid there came in first, second, or third!

"How could this be?" you wonder. Simple. The kids are divided into groups of four for competing, and in every group, one kid comes in first, one kid comes in second, and two kids tied for third! I could just puke. You could go out there, pee in your gi, try to kick and fall down, and everyone at the end would stand around and say, "Very good. You third place."

So here is where I am a bad parent by today's standards. I'm driving my boys home with their two [third place] trophies, and they ask me, "So, dad, did you ever win any trophies when you were a kid?" I had to tell them yes, occasionally: not as many as you, but at least when I did, they meant something.

Ok, this annoys the [violent fecal eruption] out of me. People like to use the term "MMORPG" when they're really just talking about a graphical mud. If you're developing an online multiplayer role playing game, it's not massive yet. SO DON'T SAY MMORPG. Unless you have more than 1000 players, it's not massive. The only thing you can call it is MORPG. Better yet, just say graphical mud. It's so much less stupid.

I have to disagree. You said the truth. That sounds like good parenting.

So then, excuse me for my french, but this is a major rant. Lately, at school, i have been noticing more and more girls dressed like sluts. Every so often you see one that has more than 50% of her skin showing, if not more than 70%. And the funny thing is, most of them are like "eww, sex, thats so gross"/ I mean youre dressed as a slut, yet you hate sex! What is wrong with you.

Thats another problem, nowadays, you wont see a guy walking on the street with nothing but a pair of shorts and a tank top. Plus what kind of man would wear a tank top?!? He would probabaly get bagged by cops for indecent exposure.

What's the deal with organic food! The name "organic" attached to it connotates that food without that label is inorganic! That makes no sense at all! "Organic" should be removed from all food labels, and some other label used, such as all-natural or something. Organic is just plain stupid.

This is an odd rant in that it is aimed at myself and my own stupidity. Earlier tonight, I was setting off some bug bombs. As I had a few in a large open area to set off, I was rushing and not exactly thinking about what I was doing. I shook the can as directed, held it, and pushed down to get the jet of spray started.

Sucked for me that I was looking straight down at the canister at the time. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!!! All I can say is I'm glad I wear glasses.

I still can't believe there are people foolish enough to believe the conspiracy theories about 9/11. Maybe having friends that watched the plane hit the Pentagon makes it easier not to doubt and to think those who do are 'dumb', but it still certainly annoys me.
