I would like to rant about maths. Stupid, boring, difficult, mostly:

WASTE OF TIME

I hate math but i can tell you learning math is NOT a waste of time. Even learning high end math or good algebra is very useful.

How the hell is algebra useful?

You've got $23 in your pocket, and you want to buy as many $1.50 candy bars as you can. However, also want to have $15 left to get some movie tickets. Bam! Algebra.

Yes, that is algebra, I admit that. But, factorisation, simultaneous equations, quadratic equations, how is that related to life in any way?

 Do you really want me to list out all of the uses of math that relies on the principles of algebra?

The "principles" of algebra may relate to everyday life, such as the example you gave, but how do the more complicated parts of it actually help anybody outside the maths classroom?

I was sat on the bus today listen to 2 girls about my age discussing 'well, obviously EVENTUALLY I'll settle down.' I got really wound up. do you want to know why? DO YOU!!!

alright, the word 'settle' in 'settling down'. Settle implies you'll do it, but you dont want to. oh... ok why not, i give in.

THATS NOT HOW IT SHOULD BE AT ALL!!! its a free choice made by two people to spend their lives together! how did the word 'settle' get into it?! surely, the idea of spending the rest of your life doing things with the person you like most in the whole wide world, isnt settling.
raaaaghhhh

To me, like any good Civver, "settle" implies settlers.

Some people do not know the difference between a battlecruiser and a battleship. This makes me want to purse my lips for a few seconds, but I wouldn't want to react out of proportion.

Most christians are less religious than I am. Rant.

How are you defining "religious" in this context? By the depth of feelings? The outward actions? Attending church? Tithing? Evangelizing? Walking in the footsteps of the Christ?

I too find it a little vague. Less religious than someone who describes themselves as an atheist and humanist?
