well the Smith wonder must have been created using a SGL, they are enabled. anyway, we need not worry too much, if we would like to, we can easily beat the French sooner or later, in fact I suggest to kick the Chinese beyond that choke and then maybe go for French. Do we want domination or conquest? If conquest is what we want we need to get those 2 tiny islands as well.
I will play tonight, just a check since daydreamer is in Switzerland.

GML can not rush Great Wonders in C3C. Only small wonders. Hence, if Mayans knew Magnetism before France, the AI is cheating ! :eek: :lol:

IT deal with China ends, of course I do NOT renew a deal, got plenty to deal with France though

3.880AD
demand China to leave and ...they do
still declare and get france to ally (+20g) for a mere lux, they still got plenty of units around for China to chew on

capture Nara , take Quirigua, one unit left in Osaka after defeating 6
capture Kagoshima with copernicus

IT I only lose 1 Cav, French LB try to take Kamin... do not succeed, but both exchange some units and last Japanese city on our pangaea is gone

4. 890AD
defeating 4 more units in Osaka I finally take the city and wines, they parked all their wounded Cav's there for us to pick :lol:
defeat a stray musket and get a MGL, use it to rush pentagon

IT French units do no good :( , and Kagoshima almost falls

5. 900AD
capture Kaminaljuyu flush out more units, but I fear we will lose Kagoshima next turn
our armies need to heal in IT, France and China strike each other and the Cav in front of Kago is leaving :D

6. 910AD
take Edo with army, take Antalya

IT China captures Sinop :mad:

7.920AD WW hits, but Steam in 2, I do not want to adjust slider
capture Kyoto and Bach, wow that helps a lot, it has the Great lighthouse as well
retake Sinop, and hero Rat creates another GML, this will be an army for the frontline
France has now medicine, I wait with a deal

IT China captures Buffalo, I was long time waiting for that

8. 930AD
next turn get steam, reduce science and increase lux due to WW
capture Satsuma and Calakmul, the last Chinese cities in hinterland taken, now towards the front

9. 940AD
steam comes in, change to industrialization in 11, :( no coal connected but we do have several sources :goodjob:

coal connected, now we can start roading to connect core with front, we might need more workers, maybe slaves from razed cities
do not worry about the enemy Cav's in our land, with 4 armies we can clean them up and soon attack and raze the choke cities
left almost all units unmoved
btw, all the Chinese frigates are very annoying, started to build some myself, we need more cannons at the coast to hit them and maybe sink later on

what do we do next?
we should really agree on the final plan, conquer or domination. I did not rush much, we still have a lot of cash
I think we should raze and claim chinese land all the way to nanking, then go for France next? as long as they do not have infantry, our armies will pick them easily, we do not even need to raze their cities, just park units next to the conquered ones and recapture in case they flip
we can trade a lot with France but I did not because I was not sure whether we will go after them soon

I would leave french alone for a while. Since we go for a domination/conquest, I prefer to totally eliminate one civ at a time from now on. Let's just wipe out China and then show Joan what kind of lowly bastards we are by annihilating France too :p

btw I got it, and I will TRY to play tonight. If I can't manage will play tomorrow night.

dl123654, you did not disband the chinese cities, so I guess we better off them completely, else we will get flips galore. (hey, our army is strong compared to them. when I stopped, it was still weak)

I emptied many cities, because in republic you do not need MP's. We might want to change government to communism if the goal is now to conquer the world. WW will be huge, if we continue the war much longer and since we signed the French in again.

We are now at 44/57%, temple rushes and more cities conquered might get us to 66% soon. Do we want domination or conquest, I personally feel domination is overplayed and would like to use conquest.
What does the rest feel?

So, I guess Shevek still gets to play his turns before he goes for xmas holidays. it might be your last time if the game progresses this way

switched some rifles to cavs and rushed them as we need more offensive troops. Rushed one factory, but couldn't afford any more. I agree with leaving some cities undefended in Republic.
Had to lower research rate to 50%
In the future, please to not start the whole core building factories when at war. Rotate it through the core. I hate to waste shields so I'll try to salvage the factory builds, but might need to abandon them in favor of troops.

Do we want to keep minimum research and use our gold for rushing units?

Do we want to research replacable parts before slowing research?

China's pretty gassed :) .

I'll be surprised if the game gets around to me again.

excellent progress

again, I ask the question. which victory does the Team prefer? If we want domination, we simply take the remainder of the Chinese cities and found a few more, rush temples and soon our 49% should be up to 66%.

If we want to have the planet for ourselves alone, we should build some galleons and send some troops to get those 2 cities on Islands (I now see that one has changed from China to France, that's excellent, because we can off China on the mainland). We have played together with France this game all along, I think it would be a bit mean to attack them...so I prefer domination after all.

By the way, we can switch research to Scientific Methods and get that in 7, maybe have a prebuild in a shield rich city and go for ToE. But then, if we need domination just go for temple rushes and some more cities.

I actually agree with Rats sentiment for domination and to leave France alone.
Either way we will win this game which is really what counts.
I will paly in approx. 2 hrs so some more time for team input.

As to science I think ToE is nice and all that we will need anyway. So I would switch to Sci Meth.
 
If we go for domination, there is not much need to think of techs anymore. try and amass money to spend for temple rushes to expand borders. try and get china cities as many as possible before France grabs them and I think in 20+ turns this game is over.
With brings me to the next issue...I thought the team effort was great, it didn't feel like DG horror to me. So shall we go for another game, Rat02? Go up another difficulty level or try another DG game with a variant or different Civ?
I would be glad to host another game for this team.
