Think we should hold off on the invasion and bring the fleet home to upgrade. Suggest RoP with Ottos to keep them off our back while we revolt to Commie. As Commie our unit support costs go way down and we get money to steal our way to inf. Will we have enough time to get to RP?
 
holding off means we will miss another election date, or am I wrong? but we need a stronger force and need to make nice with everyone to win the election.

I considered we'd miss another date, but feel we have a much better chance with rifles than muskets and a really good chance with inf and art. The question is how long will X keep warring. I didn't revolt so the group could decide.

so, what's the strategy? I didn't look at the save, but does someone know which year exactly we can expect the election, so we can invade 2 turns before that?
 
I'm not convinced we should start the invasion before we get inf. As commies we could steal our way to tech parity fairly rapidly. As commie's with cannons, we may have a shot at taking the Ottos if we're slow and careful.
 
ok, sounds reasonable to me, we need inf and arty to be effective. but, still I would like to keep track of the election date. is there a way to track that?
 
It was my understanding that the election was every ten turns, and with rrau's decription:

if we want to pull this off, we better know the exact date.

Just found a old save where I was getting UN is 3 turns, it asked me if I wanted to vote the turn I built it therefore its down to turns 4, 5 or 6.
 
It was at the end of my fifth turn (I count the save I receive as turn 0).

So, it needs to be captured by/on turn 5 of each turn set, or we miss it.

Hmm. We were making more gpt in republic, even with a lux tax.

ibt: China DoW on Persia (I think by accident I thought I saw what was probably a chinese sub run into a Persian frigate off our coast)

Notes:

I think we probably have to try it this next turn set while Persia and China are at war and Persia's troops are up by the Chinese borders. With Seti being built, I think we're probably not that far from someone launching a spaceship.

I think our mini stack won't even scratch the city. my experience tells me that we can't beat those units parked in there. Cav's and stuff won't do, but we got no other choice, let's just try

go for it. try to plant a spy first, see if persia will declare and use what gold we have to get alliances.

Nothing realy happened this turnset, got another 6 boat loads of units down to the rally point, stole RP near the end.

We should NOT go until we have at least 8-12 artillery, and more cav there, (defense would be nice too but send the muskets).

And the AI is starting to get desperate:
