GP will offer to research tech which you have prerequisites for that has higher Value(1-10).
I still did not check which tech will be offered if Value the same, so far cheapest theory work out, but I had not chance to check that well enogth.

AHHHHH!!! That is good to know!! I had always wrongly assumed that it would be the lower value tech instead!
Um... rereading that does that mean the prerequisite that has the highest value or the (to be discovered by burning the GP) tech that has the highest value?
It would have been nice if on the chart that came in the box they colour coded the techs so that you knew which ones were GS, GA, GE ect...

Plus we can only reach one greek city with any convenience.

I thought about the axemen problem last night and realized that tours is in dire straits. It has no culture bonus and the defending axemen have city raider promotions, while the attacking axemen have strength promotions. Could get ugly.
So i pull a risky move and block the coastal tiles with our axemen, hoping that the AI goes for an amphibious assualt.

It is at 0.2 health now, though.
Alex has construction. Construction +30 gold for Optics to him.
Khan is leading the pack, having Theology, Feudalism and Metal Casting.
Cyrus has Feudalism and the rest got nutting on us.

Nappy is ready for peace, but he has nothing to offer. We might want to go on, to prevent Cyrus from grabbing his cities.
Once we are done with Nappy, i think we should turn to Khan. His cities are fairly spread out and units are still moving slow. We should be able to take a city and hold it until he is ready to talk.

Had a look at the save, I would research civil service, we will get philo form the next GS which isn't that far off. Once we hook up the 2nd gold, we can run 2 scientists again and get the GS in amybe 12 turns or so.

Ok, I got it. I will play tomorrow or the next day as I couldn't get to it tonight.
Consider whipping the library in Nottingham.
Takes 2 pop, grows one back the next turn so we're only down one and that city really needs culture. The city is very good for food. We pretty much break even on research with lost pop vs 25% lib bonus.

I played 11 turns to 500 AD.
I brought a stack to Lyons, but they were defended with Longbow. Even with 3 city promotions we were at bad odds, so I just went for peace.
I switched to Organized Religion and Hinduism
I chose Hinduism because Egypt is our best friend (If it was mentioned I missed how we got a -1 with Egypt? Did she ask us to declare war?) I am not afraid of them running away. We are ahead of them in tech. I don't think they had the room to expand. I would like at least one friend. Maybe we can get them to fight Kahn when we turn on him. Do give in to demands for Egypt if it doesn't hurt us directly. With the same religion we can get to the friendly catagory.
Note that we have only one Hindu town. I started a missionary to get more.

Greebley: I forgot to mention it. Hati asked us to declare on Alex a turn or two after i declared on Nappy. There was no way for our "army" to fight two wars at the same time, so i had to decline...

Greek declaring war didn't sound too bad. I kind of wanted to grab that Greek town. It turns out I had been putting Archers into our Coastal town. It kept growing and I wanted to assign specialists rather than going unhappy. If that is the town you lost 3 archers, it sounds like it also had the side effect that we didn't lose the town (It started with a single archer).
I did switch to CS and rushed the library as was mentioned by the team at the start of my turn. You probably guessed that though.

Having a look at the diplo front, I decided to cultivate Cyrus. He and Khan are not the best of buddies but are no longer worst enemies. This gives us the potential to create Cyrus as a ally against Khan who we will have to take out soon.
The window on this is good but soon. Most of Khan's forces are southwest fighting Alex which is far away from us. Timing will be everything.
Mostly infra built during our turns but some trading done.

I signed OB with Cyrus and traded him our spare fish for 8gpt. This annoys Nappy but Nappy is never going to love us.

Hat has Machinery now and I trade her straight up for CS. I'll wait two turns (she cannot trade it her next turn) and then flog it around for whatever I can get. I upgrade our 11/17 city-3 sword to mace.

I ask and get cows from Khan for free. I trade our spare corn to Rosy for 4gpt. I grade CS to Khan and Cyrus for 210 and 230 respectively. Lousy deal but better then nothing. Hatty will flog it around for no benefit to us probably. They have techs to trade for it.

Rest of the turnset was pretty quite, a mace finished in London and it's now working on a forge. I bully Nappy for his lunch money (30g) and make peace with Alex. This is so I can trade him Music (everyone else has but Nappy I think) for 330g which he has lying around.
Paper came in and I went for guilds for the knights. The workers are down around our french possessions to do some chopping to get some stuff built. I also chopped a forest for Cantebury to get that library built. Couple turns left and then we can get our own beef.
Again I reiterate, we need to go after Khan soonest or he will run away on us. He captured Delphi from Greece in 755AD and may well roll him up. We will need much maces and cats.
Sorry I couldn't get a boat built Greebly but opportunity never offered.

I would grab the cash and whatever else we can, redline research to get knights and lay down some smack. We should be able to grab the three nearest cities of Khan's without too much trouble if we can get Cyrus onside. Some spears will be handy.

sounds like a good plan. I am surprised we can keep up in the tech race so easily. The GS strategy works well. The next GS would aid the research of PP IIRC.
Yes, we should get knights and together with maces get some of Khan's cities. Beware of his keshiks though.
