lurker's comment: To stop zerkers from pollutin' your waters, can't you clog Gilbralter?

I am not very familiar with the map, but we would meet a lot of civs doing that at the moment. It might be worthwhile after we have met them though (assuming it is possible). Right now I would prefer the chance of a Zerk rather than meeting France, any Spanish civs, Danes, etc. I would prefer to get the iron behind the main lines before we meet them if we can.

I'd say, we don't want to sail there until we secured tar for more dromons

Fully agree. We will meet:
Fatimids (no real issue, have to send their units through Abba's lands)
Cordova (sometimes surprisingly strong)
Burgundy (baaaad....)

Most likely France, Castille, and any exploring Longship.

It is, however, a viable strategy for later.

you should know it's that time of the year again, but anyway no need to discuss this here, thanks

lurker's comment: You really should silence the Abbasids for a while, perhaps taking a city or two, and then blockading them. That would give you time to get rid of the Bulgars, and then finish the Abba's off.

lurker's comment: They haven't met the Abbasids yet. ;)
EDIT: reads post #19. :crazyeye:

Preturn: We have one town building Regular Swords.

Early:
Build Heraclea near Corinth.
Finish the tech for Cats and start on MDI tech.
Lose 2 Spear in Attalea. It might fall.
Attack and Capture Pliska. We kill Samuel.. Lose an Elite Sword vs def 1 Samuel and a Vet Sword to a Spear.

Mid: Trebizond is built near the Quarry which will give us walls.
Pliska becomes a killing zone as every Bulgar rushes towards it and is mowed down.

Late: Capture Veliki Preslav from Bulgar.
Keep an eye out for Contact with yellow (Turkey?). We touch his territory at the corner.

Notes:
Medieval combat in 4 turns.
I thought about a prebuild for tapestry (free barracks) but it was 60 turns total, so I didn't.
We have 2 defenders in our west coast (mediteranean) cities, but not our east coast ones (some are empty). Do we need to worry about Zerks on our East Coast?
We are kind of troop heavy at the moment and may need to consider building other things (or better using our troops to take towns).
Both fronts are well under control at the moment. Attalea was at risk earlier but is doing ok now.
I would like to keep our culture up. We started high and temples are pretty cheap. It means we can keep cities which means in turn we can grow without shrinking our own cities (we have plenty to settle with our settlers to replace the enemy).
Do we have any idea where the other 2 (right?) leader of Green are? North of us seems most likely.

Bulgars are not human-playable, and thus only have 2 Kings. Now, they only have 1 king, which you would know to be in Pitesti If you had read DocT's first post. And that civ to the North? The Magyars.

this is looking really good, taken the tar city and even expanded.

I would still try and get some more cities up in our core to reduce unit support. With maces due in 4, things are looking great :goodjob:
