I am sure you guys are experts and know it already, but the best way to do so is to check the cultural advisor and look for all cities with culture close to 10, or 100 versus their cpt. I did so in my histograph game and even with ~250 cities this went rather quickly.
If I am not telling you anything new, just ignore me
Thanks Calis. Anything to speed up the mm'ing.
Pre-turn: Start by turning on team color disc so I can see where all the infiltrators are at. Look for opportunities to load boats and see I have some transports that are set up for short ship chain. Start loading transports so we can siege the big island. There's a small Persian capital island that needs attention as well so I'll rush two transports. They'll be ready to drop off units next turn. Abandon a tundra town and move us to 65% land and stop the potential borders.
Send a destroyer into the big island and see the best the Japanese show is rifles. Turn off research for the final run and it slows down our research pace by a couple turns.
1475 Land a stack at the Persian capital and hammer the remaining units left on the freed continent. Continue our movement towards the big island.
1480 Take Ergili but we must have a settler on a boat. I think I know where so send out a bomber to crush their shipping. I'll need more of these.
IT 7 marines, 3 infantry and 3 cavs are dropped off near the capital.
1485 Bombard the intruders and bring home some units to protect the main continent. They're on a mountain so we'll wait for them to make the next move. Land on Echigo which will act as an airfield for our single units. One of our bombers sinks a Persian frigate. Three more to go so send 3 more bombers up near Bactra. Air transport some single units back to the main continent to handle the Dutch incursion. Decide to rush a carrier for fun.
IT A marine takes out one of our fortified infantrymen. A cav hits the capital with fully healthy sipahi army and is repulsed. As expected they split forces.
Good night Persians.
1490 Destroy the remaining Persian ships with a galleon and the Persians are gone. Raze the Japanese city and plant a airfield. The Dutch incursion is repeled. Land at the Greek capital.
IT get bombarded by bombers and take serious damage on our destroyers.
1495 Greek capital Bizen is taken and the
Greeks are destroyed. Bizen allows us to attack Omi and destroy Omi.
IT The Dutch come bombing again and do damage to our army at Kozuke. We're deposed at Jaipur.
1500 Take back Jaipur. Take another Japanese city and land at all three remaining cities. Dutch New Kyoto, Japanese New Osaka and Sado. It looks like our carrier will come in handy since there's 2 galleons and 5 frigates (only one full health)outside of New Kyoto. Unfortunately, our newest invention, the tank, may not be able to be used in battle. In hindsight I might have been able to keep research rate up a bit and they could've been used.
IT Juicy the transport takes down a frigate.
1505 Bombard Sado and New Osaka. Take New Osaka and keep the city. Bombard the frigate/galleon stack and reveal a galleon. Sink both galleons.
Take Sado and the Japanese have been destroyed.
Hammer New Kyoto redlining a infantryman, knock out 3 of their bombers and redline a submarine.
Take Dutch Kyoto and 2167g. Plant our last settler and name it Victory and we move from 66% to 67% land. Victory is sweet with conquest and domination.
Summary
Another great game with a team of really solid players. It really is a pleasure playing with you guys and I continue to learn more about this game all the time. I'm not sure what the inflection point was but it seems once we hit cavalry the momentum becomes a tidal wave. Speed kills! The save right before our 119 hour win is attached.
I don't know if there's another variant we should consider but I'm open for another since my "cage match PBEM" has stalled big time.
