8 Pms, nice, it'll take some time to condense them into something else.
... As usual, don't be afraid of giving too much detail ...
What difficulty?![]()
I have two methods and I'm not completely sure which one to do. But both take a lot of pressing the F key.
I grabbed it. I'll see what I can do. It may be a few days until I have something to show you.The wooden square that I put on the wooden sleepers was this one...
Bronze or iron fine. Rusty definitely not. Most of the golden armour and equipment on the 'special' chariot's riders will be replaced by bronze and iron. I can dig up some rusty iron from the repository at parastudios if needed.
Looks good. The next step with it would be to add the pennant. Speaking of which. It would be great if you could include a simple finial atop the pole. Like a pair of wings. The pictures of Arjuna's ratha have his heraldic animal - a rampant monkey - but I think that's too complicated.OK, chattra improved
yessireebob! So, you want one driver and one archer on it, right? Just to clarify.
The bow shape is fantastic! I'd like to get a model of this length (for future foot units) & then have you make a slightly shorter version for the ratha archer. Made a picture of the length that looks right to me:Added bowstring and arrow: ...With some scaling, they can be turned into shorter bows/arrows if needed.
It's Arya written in Sanskrit. It's what they called themselves. What is this arya thing in the first page for? Is it some sort of flag?
I think the texture needs to be really strong to be visible. Perhaps the Arya symbol can be used as the basis for a texture (on the right). I feel sheepish making the suggestion because I really have no idea how textures are made. And my quick paste jobs really don't do justice to what you can accomplish.

I have a few ideas of how to make the texturing less subtle...using the Arya symbol could definitely fit in doing just that. But I'm guessing I can't just mirror the symbol for the other side. Any suggestions there?
My vague understanding is that it becomes a bump map - making the metal surface look embossed. It's okay to shrink it, stretch it (or whatever) to make it fit. Here's a rough placement on your model:I actually was thinking of the Arya as mirrored on the other side. ... I think the suggestion of wings it offers as a texture works very well for the ratha mythos - each Hindu god has a "vehicle" which is normally called a vahana ("mount") but is also referred to as a ratha. Krishna (Arjuna's charioteer in the Kurukshetra War) has Garuda (an anthropomorphised eagle) for his vehicle.
Nope, the standard guy is doing fine by now, maybe when i turn to editing the soldiers themselves I'll do that.Have you tried importing the paperdoll into Blender? I ask because it's already proportioned to fit in with the Firaxis units & it's the de facto standard here - people like Sandris & Plotinus amongst many others use it.
Drop the monkey. It's one of those "in a perfect world" things.Bow and arrows resized, added pennant and a little mast. Sorry, but the monkey was undoable.
You could always use the attachments (semi-private) or the db (public) here. There's a category for models in the db.Just in case I made a copy of everything and put it into a PEN drive.
Any good sites for uploading temporary copies?
No turban! Wrong era, wrong caste. The helmet I've given you numerous pictures of is the way to go. There's an .obj / prop available in a paperdoll related thread if you don't want to manipulate a cone and or cylinder. I need more details about what you intend for the armor. Barefoot is fine. Or sandals.
