RBCiv Conquests SG Discussion Thread

Still interested in a Prussian game, if there's some other latecomers who would like to play. It looks like Kylearan was going to be gone until the 30th, so I'd wait at least until then to get started

Thanks for waiting on me! I'm still highly interested in playing the Prussia game, and demigod difficulty sounds good to me. I won't have time to start up the game myself this week, though, so it would be great if you (or somebody else) could do this.

I haven't read the other threads so far and haven't played the scenario before - and would like to leave it that way. So veteran players for this scenario should prepare themselves for some :smoke: on my part when playing with me. :D

-Kylearan

Welcome back, Kylearan! Dwip and DeceasedHorse had also expressed an interest in a late Prussian game, and LKendter was asking about it last week, so we should be able to put together the roster (please confirm interest?) and get started. I will start a discussion thread later today, but I probably wouldn't have time to play it until tomorrow anyway, which would give us time to look everything over. :)

I haven't played it either, but I'm sure we'll all learn some lessons together! ;)

Confirming

Ready and waiting.

I have a heart for the weaklings...

Never really liked RoR, but the 'Everlasting Rome' SGs were great, we're done with the Middle Ages, AoD's Iroquois were a disaster  , now on to Napoleonic Europe.

Ladies and Gentleman, I'd like to announce

RBC15I - Sweden

I helped us a bit, added a Bank+Coastal Fortress to Stockholm, gave us 2 Workers to start with, and also gave us the SEA trait - we're now COM/MIL/SEA. Checked, and we are able to trade for Horses and several Luxes in the first turn.
Level will be Demigod.

Next: The Dutch  (No, I'm not that insane, I mean the Dutch in WW2 :D)

No locked Alliance. No UU (despite the generic Musket Infantry is way better than most of the UUs), no way to a GA.

I cannot resist this one. Do sign me up.

Ps, any way for us to trigger a GA ?

Throwback days are underway at RBCiv. The next Epic will be Always War, played on vanilla C3 for that top notch vintage experience.

You didn't mention a level. Monarchy or the more common Emperor. Original civ will actually be tougher the C3C. I can't imagine going back to contacts sold at writing. All available civs will be in contact much earlier...

It was certainly a down-to-the-wire finish, but the Proud Prussians were able to pull off a Victory Point win in September, 1814, thanks to the beat-the-clock abilities of General LKendter and his Cavarly armies. Many thanks to the whole team, LKendter, Dwip, and Kylearan, it was a fun and challenging game. I was especially glad we were able to get this one off well after the other teams were underway, I didn't want to miss a Conquest. ;)

Not to offend, please advise and I'll delete this.

What if you took the save just before a win as the prussians, swedes or naples and started it as WWI ten years later? All civs would have art, cav and inf. Tanks and airplanes could be researched, etc. Might need to give Britain some benefits of empire...

Again, if I'm in the wrong thread, advise and I'll delete.

Is there any interest in having an RBCiv team or teams take on the WW2 in the Pacific conquest? Other than the Sengoku sceanrio, it is the only one left. There are four playable civs, and one unplayable, but I assume it would only take DocT a few minutes to make the Dutch Playable.
The Civs
Japan (Very easy, even on Sid)
China (Winnable on Sid)
U.S. (Moderately Difficult on Sid)
Commonwealth (Difficult on Sid)
Dutch (Haven't played, but I think on Sid, it could challenge even Arathorn)
I have played and won (or are winning) all the playable nations on Sid. Japan has enough starting units that they should be able to roll over the competition before the Sid bonus takes effect. China on Sid was my first hosted SG, and was won with some strategy and a very solid team. U.S. on Sid was a personal game where I won by Island hopping and fleet destruction. It played like a Deity epic game. I played it the greenpeace way though, no nukes. I am currently playing Commonewealth on Sid, and it is quite a fight, but I have just picked up my first army, and I think that the game will all be downhill from here.
Thoughts?
Questions?
Anyone interested in putting together or even just playing in these games?
I was thinking of 2 Japan Sid teams, one for beginners/monarch level players :king: , and one for domination with more experienced players.
I was thinking of China on Sid, with the goal of capturing Japan's Asian mainland holdings, or as much as possible.
I was thinking America on Sid, with the Lend-Lease and greenpeace rules. You may not sell anything to your allies, only give them away. You may not steal or demand from your allies. And of course no nukes. :nuke:
I was thinking Commonwealth on Sid with the rule of no Armies. All great leaders must rush buildings. The great Commonwealth generals got moved to the German front, and this should mirror that as much as possible. :D
A couple of links to help people out.
A Sid game even though it says Deity
How to play without Armies

I'd sign up for America under those conditions.

I'd be interested in playing. Only problem with the Commonwealth variant, is that if you mobilize, you won't be able to rush many buildings (only Harbor, Barracks, Airport, Civil Defense), and the few Small Wonders available. Still, it would make for an interesting decision.

It means that you cannot sell a tech, but that you can buy one. If you have advanced flight, you can only give it away.
The same with resources and luxuries.
If you have advanced flight and they have amphibious warfare, you cannot in buying amphibious warfare sell advanced flight. Any and all buys must done with cash and gpt.
Clear as mud?
Besides these are only suggestions, but I am quite fond of odd variants. Final rules would be left up to the game leader.

I'm in.

First choice is domination Japan. Failing that, I'd play US, too.
