hey totally off topic here but can anyone tell me how to reduce unhappiness in cities? i just played 3 successive games and by the time i get to 2000 BC, i have citizens refusing to work. they say it is too crowded. is there a way to fix this?
yes it sounds like a newb question but i havent played CIV in months until recently. ive forgotten some of the fine tunings.
thanks ill head over there to read up. but does this mean i have to keep my population low the entire game?
I still believe that we should build up a military to take out Augustus early. Such a move would leave our Southern border free from threat and secure an avenue to colonize the south.
Once we have a few techs, we may be able to bribe Ragnar into a war with another rival power. This will preoccupy the Viking Army. Then we can strike him, leaving ourselves free from threat near our homeland.
Then what? Consider the cycle of evil war, leaving the world into a dark age. You want Britain's finest to die? Uneasy peace my friend.
The war left Hungary devastated destroying over 60% of the economy and causing huge loss of life. Many Hungarians, including women and children, were brutally raped, murdered and executed or deported for slave labour by Czechslovaks, Russian Red Army troops, Yugoslavs (mostly Serbian partisans and regular units), and the Romanian so-called "Munteanu Guard" paramilitary units — by the end of the war approximately 500,000-650,000 people.
Well said Cull! Offensive war takes an unnecessary risk.
Honestly, its not the risk I'm worried about, its the lives of Englishmen, and the effects such a war could make, outside of the pure amount of death. It would destroy diplo in the world stage, slow down the discoveries of new technologies, and in general, make life worse, and throw a dark curtain around the world that is unlikely to be lifted for a long, long time.
. That is what war offers, for very little compensation. (Note: I am actually a pacifist in RL).I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears, and sweat

We sound like politicians when we say all this, particularly the "lives of Englishmen" part! However, it is very true. Why not at least devote the hammers to tech instead? After all, techs are the backbone of an empire.
