I loved the book! The Percy Jackson series ranks up there with HIVE, Harry Potter, and Pendragon for me.

Anyway, I'm alternating between making the changes in the plan and doing homework. BTW, I'm adding several of the things that Arya mentioned a while back in a long post.

Also, should we move our capital right now? I think we should wait for the plains in RY to be cottaged.

No change capital right now.

HIVE is horrible. HP after 4 is bad. Percy Jackson is disliked. Read something better. :p

No, HIVE is great. The third one came out in the UK (:)) already, but it'll be out in the USA in April. Harry Potter before 4 is worse than after 4, and Percy Jackson is not disliked by many.

More on topic, we want the bureaucracy bonus.

NO! I think thats my unooficial job by now...but you guys are lucky. Im taking a week or two off.

Oh, oh, can I do it!? :please:

@off-topic bookiness: I like the Temeraire series. Napoleon. Dragons. Whats not to like?

Its a long time back MN. I would give up if i were you.

Off topic books: Percy jackson series is awesome. Have you read the rest of them? Harry potter good, although some were better than others, but i like the later ones for thier more detail. Has anyone read Cherub? Also, whats HIVE? Whats temeraire? Sigh. Ill wiki it. or google.

Mech...sure. Just dont go too overboard alright?

Dont change the capital at all right now. Maybe in the FAR future, but not right now. Especially not right now. RY isnt even ready should we choose to move it there. I dont think we should move it until the war is over and we have started rebuilding, if at all. London is much more suited since it has a balance of commerce food and hammers. RY just has food and commerce.

That's what most people seem to think, so ditch the idea (the "move the capital/capitol" one) for now.

http://www.markwalden.net/blog/?page_id=6 is a link to the description of the first book in the series. There will be six total, but only two are out in the USA ATM.

Both books look very interesting. If you like that book MN, i would highly recomend the CHERUB series for you. They have like 5 or 6 in the UK, but the second only comes out here in teh usa in december. The first was great though.

Dresden Files,, A Song of Ice and Fire, and a does of nonfiction does it for me

Im horrible at reaidng non fiction. While reading fiction i can read 100 pages an hour if given the right book, but non fiction, well i am slow when reading it. I like it, its just dull most of the time.

Hey dull and cull rhyme!

We should develop Gaul before moving the capital. But I still think we should move it.

Spoiler OFFTOPIC :
HIVE is absolutely dreadful. If you like the concepts, read Evil Genius. The stuff I like are the Ender Quartet, Dune, and (most) of the stuff by Kurt Vonnegut. Oh yeah, and the Hunger Games.
I'm fine with most nonfiction stuff. My favorite nonfiction ones the Freakonomics books.

Switching the cap to RY would get us an extra 13 gpt. With bureaucracy, this means that London would need to make 26 gpt more than RY to compensate, not taking into account hammers. At 100%, we get 45.5 beakers out of London, and 25.5 beakers out of RY, meaning that commerce-wise, the change is worth it. However, keeping London as the capital gets us 24 more hammers, not to mention the cost of building a palace in such a hammer deprived city. So, assuming we will run 70%, the numbers turn out like this:

Keeping the capital as London gets us 24 commerce less than making RY the capital (Palace provides +8 commerce, and bureaucracy 1.5s that)
Keeping the capital as London gets us 24 hammers more than making RY the capital
Building the palace at RY takes 54 turns

The last one really bites.

Ever heard of the chop, or the whip, MathNerd?

Cull is not dull except in a toll. Hey, that rhymes!

I despise the Evil Genius series, HIVE, and the Hunger Games.

To whip, you'd need to wait until only a handful of turns are left to have enough pop, probably, not to mention the fact that it would kill our best commerce city. Also, RY doesn't have many forests to chop.

4 Math boothed chops/forests either within or one tile away from RY gives a decent amount of hammers. Whipping would be to get it down by two or so pop, which frankly would not "kill" our best commerce city. At size 10, it has a +5 food suplus, growing in what appears to be around 6 turns. Size 9, +7. Size 8, +9 and so on. The 2 pop or 3 could be regrown in under 20 turns, which is fine.

Probably need to do overflow from a previous whip too. A forge or library would be best for that.

Um Cull....I was under the impression that Mn and the rest of his party + WIM were fiercly against slavery in any form therefore against whipping. And there arent many forests near RY, and taking them out will only provide 30 hammers each, which would be much better spent on more important things.

Oh and i love the hunger games series. I hate anthem, which i lterally just spent the last 3 hours reading online. Ayn rand is absolutly horrible.

Well, after Ravus's slavery ideas ages back, we became less "fierce", but we still oppose whipping. And ATM, even OOC, I wouldn't whip due to the fact that we want to work those yummy wet grasses once they're all towned up.

Would anybody mind if we gifted Circci and Arrettium (the two tiny cities on the border of Russia) to the Germans if we are able? They are so... useless, and they'll just hamper our economy.
