MN you are counting on the facts of rome/rest of buddhist block will not attack us and that russia will not send many if any units towards. But isnt it better to be ready for the worst like i have said before? That way we have a chance of surviving the worst, and a very good chance at surviving anything smaller than it. Our defense is a skeleton at best, and nonexistant at worst. Good luck defending Cull-norwich from teh russians after the barbarians take it.

The kind people of England are already feeling woeful. They hear of Russians being massacred, and they weep, for the English people care about all humans, not just themselves.

These kind people are also already developing a distaste for this new, warlike government. They hear of how fellow Englishmen are killing fellow humans without mercy, and they wonder what has happened to the peaceful group that governed England just years before. They long to go back to the days back when cities were focused on infrastructure and buildings instead of training people designed to kill.

England, they feel, is descending onto a path of immorality and blood.

Actually that is what the minority is feeling in our nation. After all our votes tripled yours and i made what i would make policy very clear in the case of this situation. I am sorry to hear you have had misinformation.

That was some good writing lighthearter. I hope that you can continue the story tonight. But if not i look foward to tomorrow. Im writing in this coclor so you see it in the midst of the arguement and so certain others can follow suit.


Im sure that these english understand how these russians act. It is kill or be killed AND see innocent english hostages killed as well. I hope they understand that this is a hostile world, and that we have to defend ourselves or their lives will be severly changed by their future oppressors if we dont.

Actually i beleive i heard of riots all across the country against the russians asking for vengeance and even demanding the russians bow to our demands that negotiations take place in Ravus-York. They dont care for russians who have caused us much grief.

Also=tell me how they know of the massacring of russians before the battle is finished? And what they coniser massacres? I think i have counte a max body count or around 32-33 or russians and no english.

How they know? Well, I was just anxious to write that, and published it a few days/pages/turns early, I presume.

Anyway, we could go on and on debating about what the people think, but what we really need is a Realpolitik Reporter to settle the argument. Hopefully he'll finish coverage of the battle first, though.

Alright, while we're pulling off a little rescue operation, we need to figure out where to go next?

TECH PLAN: Who's the scientific advisor? Interior Minister? Finance Minister? I personally think we should go currency-construction-metal casting-monarchy-machinery-feudalism, but that's just my idea, and we probably won't get very far on it.

BUILD PLAN: What shall we build? We need to see the city screen for every city to decide a competent building path.

FOREIGN POLICY: What shall be our foreign policy? Shall we try to befriend our European neighbors, or will give them the cold shoulder? What deals shall we make?

IBERIAN CRISIS: There's also the problem of a little barbarian wandering around our Spanish cities. How shall we handle it? This may be a larger short-term threat then the little Baltic Affair. We stand the risk of losing one city, maybe even all our Iberian cities. Well, military minister, what's your take on this? How shall we handle this little situation?

I will handle the normal routine presidential duties when/if i get back from moscow. Workin with LH to accomplish that right now. I dont think that my plans will count for much if im dead 10 seconds after i post them (in game dead of course).

And that was some really goo writing LH. Not enough details to make it lenthy enough for a book or novel, but the format is great and so is just the way you write.

Are we planning a defensive war, or are we planning to do some sort of damage?

Well, first you have to ask yourself this: do we have the capability to actually hit Russia? For that we need:

Triremes
Galleys
OB with Ragnar or JC
A fairly sized army

As our military consists of a couple of archers, I doubt we'll be doing much attacking.

well given 20 turns we could raise 2 archers per city and 4 galleys and 2 triremes i bet. problem is london i think isnt connected to the sea

Yeah it is. If it's in a historically accurate spot it probably is. The only thing I'm worried about is if Rome declares on us, because if it's Russia, we'll have more time to prepare for invasion. Just in case, you should prepare plans for war with Rome, Vikingdom, and Russia.

i doubt the vikings will declare war.

Can we also get open borders with the vikings, and scout their cities?

Fine, prepare for Us vs. Rome vs. Russia, as well as Us vs. Russia. Us vs. Rome seems unlikely but, hey, you can never tell. (Don't prepare for it if you think it's too unlikely). You know what they say, "Hope for the best but prepare for the worst"

You should also come up with a solution to that barbarian wandering around Spain. It almost makes me wish we were playing on Civ V where cities defend themselves...

this realpolitik may go on long enough for us to get civ 5. Anyway when lighthearter does a new update ill use the expanded information to make a plan.

Also its just one barb warrior right? send an archer to take care of it.

Yup, a city defending itself would be nice.

But, do we really need OB with vikings? WE sould just set sail around scandinavia to the archengelelsk area and launch an invasion from there. It might take longer, but it relies less on other nations, and will probably be a surprise to moscow. That is if we fight an offensive war. It probably wont happen if rome attacks and/or russia sends a few stacks to us soon. If we are fighting only russia, then i say we prepare a minimum offensive force, until we destroy a few stacks and weaken any russian offensives. Then once we have an optimum invasion force on land and sea, we opt for a sea invasion of russia.

And yes, london is connected to the sea via the tile to the northeast. Historically it was connected by the thames, but rivers dont hold naval vessels here so yeah...

And yes i think we should risk our lone archer in iberia to attack the barb. But make sure the archer is always on a hill, and dont attack if the barb is on a hill as well unless it is poised to strike a city.
