OCC: The ladoga line area is also part of Karelia (Karjalan kannas)
i did not mean my troops to abandon it oh well too late now...

An Article in the Finnish Newspaper Helsingin Sanomat:

Viipuri Palaa (Viipuri Burns)

The civilians of Viipuri have not been spared from the attacks of the Russians.
These so called liberators have ruthlesly bommed civilian targets in and around Viipuri. The Finnish army lead by Marshal Mannerheim is currently defending valiantly the people of Finland and its freedom.
He leads the defense of Finland from Mikkeli not far away from the front lines.
"We will preserve the Finnish independes together with our Swedish allys"
says Marshal Mannerheim. Meanwhile the civilians of the citys too close to the frontline are evacuated.

So you wish to give us more land in the south, and you more land in the north with your proposal. However, we will accept this peace.

Bank and Increase WC

The government concerned with the security in Germany has shifted many troops to that region, to assure there would be no violent uprisings. A military court is in place ready to try any soldiers that become to "rowdy." (Shifting Conscripts and Partisans to region).

On the home front the government begins to make use of the new coastal city and increase trade on the Black Sea. Unfortunately the Turks are enemies of Romania and have cut down on the Romanian traffic they allow into the Med. Negotiations to this point have proven fruitless. But they would continue none-the-less.

To the west Albania, a province of the ex-ally Italy, an uprising was in the process. Italy had personally threatened the Romanian government in the case that interference came to the area. The President gave his personal assurance that they would not interfere in the internal problem.

Romania has kept itself distant from the works of the Soviets in the north against Finland. The nation intends to keep it so.

Update can't be today, i have too much "life" stuff going on today. I'm sorry :(

Update 10- July 1951

FINN WAR ENDS! After only 1 and a half months, this short war has been brought to an end after the treaty of Helsinki. The new border has secured the USSR Lake Ladoga. The Russians have secured more land in the south, but had to give up northern holdings. These were met with great happiness by Stalin, as he wanted these lands more then the north.

SWEDEN STAYS MOBILIZED! Sweden has continued to mobilize it’s forces in the case of an attack. Many politicians say this is a waste of money and time, and that Sweden does not need to keep it’s military mobilized. Sweden’s history of recent neutrality also helps the politicians arguments.

ROMANIAN ECONOMY IMPROVES! As the Romanian economy improves, the people are very happy. The distance of Romania from current wars has given the people time to regroup from the Bulgarian War. The Romanian morale has never been as good as it is now.

BELGIAN LEADER IMPEACHED! The scandal that erupted after Yugoslavia announced to the world of the Belgian leader’s connection to organized crime has not gone unnoticed. After several months of their own investigation, the Belgian parliament have decided to impeach the Prime Minister. It is unsure what will happen, but the impeachment process has already started. The leftist vice Minister might actually spoil relations with EDL.

ALBANIAN REBELLION! The Albanian rebellion turns sour as the NPA sends tens of thousands of troops to the country to keep the peace. When the Italians try to drop propaganda and food on villages through airlifts, hidden anti-aircraft guns are able to shoot down the commercial airplanes. The 5 infantry divisions and 1 armored division then attempt to route out the Albanian insurrection through force. Supported by 21 squadrons(12 planes) of Mysteres the troops try to expand the area around Tirana. The area however is hilly and chock full of the rising amount of Albanian partisans. Orders say not to harm civilians, however this is impossible as civilian and partisan can not be told apart. In one such instance, a “supporter” aloud an Italian officer the stay in his house. During the night, the officer was brutally killed. Villages are the main fortresses of the Albanians. As NPA forces enter them, they are decimated. The NPA soon learns the tricks of the trade however and attack the towns from a distance using artillery, tanks and air cover. The partisans continue to use guerilla tactics against the NPA forces, causing dozens of casualties towards the NPA daily. For every soldier the Italians kill, it seems there are 2 to take their spot. The French have discovered that the resistance is led by a young man, in his 20s. This is all that is known right now. The resistance so far has been considered light. The majority of the Albanian resistance remains in it’s strongholds in the north and south.

Italy: -1,000 Modern Infantry

France: -2,000 modern infantry

Commie Spain: -500 modern infantry

Albania: +10,000 Partisans(rather then -5,000)

HOMELAND SUPPORT! The Italian people have shown great unhappiness with the current rebellion. They believe Albania should be sent free. Lybia, Ethiopia and Somalia were all sent free, why not Albania? Several protests have ended in violence.

ALBANIAN SUPPORT! 8 wc has arrived in Albania this turn. The Albanians will soon use this to equip their army to a much more modern level. Albania has also made a plea to NATO.

SPANISH UNION! After a Franco’s ‘heart-attack’, the NRS went a little more open with it’s political parties. Soon afterwards they agreed with the Republic of Spain to a union. The nationalist party did win the new election, but only has 42% of the seats. The republicans have 28% and the other 30% have been filled by various other parties. After only a few months of separation, Spain gets closer towards reunification. What the Italians call Espanization, or the slow break up of Spain, has seemingly come to an end. The economies and militaries of both nations have become united. Spain continues to research improved tank armor. The Quixote Tank is near finished.

BERLIN NEAR COMPLETION! The polish continue to rebuild the city of Berlin and use their entire economy to do so. Many suspect the city will be finished within another 2 months. People continue to flock to the city.

DIPLO:

From Albania
To NATO:

Help us! We will gladly join your alliance if you help set us free!

OOC:
To let you know, paratroopers will be aloud, but only 1/10 of your modern infantry can be dropped per turn. Also anti-aircraft and enemy air cover can easily destroy the planes. Also the only way to bomb cities is with heavy bombers. These will also destroy factories, railways, bridges etc and overall weaken the opposing economy.

I’ll also do the backgrounds etc tomorrow.
