Update 14- March 1952
AMERICAN ELECTION NEARS! The American election will arrive in only 8 months(4 turns). Campaigns coming into full swing. The most impressive part of this campaign is the fact many Republicans and Democrats are split on who to choose. Polls show Dwight D. Eisenhower in a slight lead on Robert A. Taft, the democrats are not much different, but to much worse effect. Estes Kefauver appears to be in the lead, but Adlai Stevenson and Richard Russell are not far behind. William Harrison appears to be losing support as several monetary backings in Ohio and Indiana have switched support to other candidates. The political conventions are still 4 moths away, its still anybodys game.
NEW POLISH LEADER! General Sorinov has taken control of the Polish government. Poland has begun a military buildup that it has not experienced in many years.
MEDITERRANEAN SOCIALIST REPUBLIC! The Southern Spanish government has signed a revolutionary treaty with the Italian government that has combined the two separate nations into a single entity. The Mediterranean Republic has soon become one of the most economially and militarily powerful nations in the world. The two nations are separated by the Mediterranean and have no available land routes. This however has only strengthened sea based trade between the two parts and merchant marine fleets flourish. International corporations are very interested in investing money, but they require looser rules on the command economy.
CHINESE AND ARABIAN MODERNIZATION! The Chinese and Arabian governments have agreed to buy designs to the Dublin Tank and soviet designs from the new Mediterranean Republic. This has brought a huge amount of money into the countrys coffers. China and Arabia however have used the new technology to upgrade their military.
RED DUSK! A new rebel organization called Red Dusk has started in the Mediterranean Republic. They demand a return to true Marxist ways. They have been able to steal an atomic bomb from the Mediterranean Republic and are holding the government at ransom.
BRITISH JETS! The British have not only have begun mass producing the new Hunter jet, but have started to adapt it to serve on carriers. If it is successful, carriers will have an even more deadly role with jet fighters onboard.
SYRIAN TERROR GROUP EMERGES! Calling themselves the Black Hand, a Syrian terrorist group has begun demanding independence from France. It is unsure, but links to the Warsaw Pact or NATO may exist. The Syrian terrorists hijacked a commercial airline, unheard of before hand and tried to crash it into the Eiffel Tower, but were unsuccessful and crashed too short, killing several hundred tourists and civilians. This attack has brought French military forces on full alert. It is unsure how the French will respond.
ROMANIAN MILITARY! The Romanian military has seen a huge boost in spending. The Romanians have even rolled out their own aircraft carrier.
TECH RACE! The technology race between America and USSR continues. The USSR was able to detonate its own Hydrogen Bomb, with some Slovakian economic aid. It has now replaced its old arsenal with new Hydrogen Bombs. The US soon followed suit. The US in an attempt to help match the Warsaw Pacts spy capability by creating the CIA and NSA. To help these new agencies, the US has developed the Computer. These have already decoded low level military codes used by the Warsaw Pact.
OOC: Tyrion I could only follow some orders. You cant research MIG-15s, you can however develop better jet fighters, so thats what I did. You also need an intelligence agency to build a spy network, so Im not sure if you wanted to start that or not. Also update took long cause Ive been watching TV at the same time
