AMERICAN ELECTION NEARS! The American election will arrive in only 2 months(1 turn). Campaigns have come into full swing. Robert Alphonso Taft and his running mate Dwight Eisenhower are running neck and neck with Adlai Ewing Stevenson and John Jackson Sparkman. It is unsure how this election will play out.
ROMANIA! Romania continues to dominate the non-USSR nations of the Warsaw Pact. Recently finishing 2 projects and developing a plane equivalent to the British Hunters and French Mysteres. (Will be referred to as Hunter). Romania has yet to build any Jet fighters though.
NORWEGIAN SPENDING! Using their gigantic bank of money, the Norwegians have not only researched Improved Targeting Systems but also built up a sizable armed forces. Norway not only has one of the largest armies in Europe, but one of the largest navies too.
FASCISTS GAIN POWER! In Finland, the anti-communist Fascists have taken control. They quickly have started work on a Maginot-like defense line along the Russian border. It requires another 13 WC to finish.
NUCLEAR POWER! Both the United States and Great Britain have developed Nuclear Power. This now allows them to construct Nuclear Power Plants and Nuclear Submarines. The United States launches the first Nuclear submarine, the USS Nautilus, five more join with it. The British build 12. They are able to travel longer distances, in faster time, and are also more stealthy. They are more costly then previous submarines though.
US AND USSR MODERNIZES! The United States has disbanded its large 500 Mustang Air Force. To replace it is 213 F-86/A1. Upon hearing this, the USSR disbands is gigantic YAK air Force of 1510 and replaces it with 375 MIG-17. The united States no faces a serious lack of air superiority. The USSR also develops the Computer and Nuclear Reactor to try and catch up to the US.
SPAINS PRIME MINISTER ASSASSINATED! The Spanish Prime Minister has been assassinated by apparent Mediterranean agents. Right after a search of the area discovers 2 Yugoslavians digging up dirt of the former Prime Minister. After some interrogations they proclaim they are from France, personal information also points to France. It is unsure if they are truly from France or not.
TECH TRADES! China buys strategic weapons and advanced Jet Engines for 50 wc. France also gives China the Atomic Bomb for unknown reasons. Morocco has also bought Jet Engines for 20wc. They have also borrowed 20wc from the Swiss, promising to return 30wc next turn.
FRENCH BOMB! The French have developed the Hydrogen Bomb! They also have built one. The French have also researched transistors. The French have also built up their armed forces.
VIETNAM CIVIL WAR! What seems to be French sponsored(5 wc to the cause), the North Vietnamese have declared a republic. The South Vietnamese immediately tried to take it back by force but were repulsed when Chinese troops appeared to them! China is preparing to conquer South Vietnam(remember, its communist)! The USSR condemns this action and has quickly given 5 wc to the south Vietnamese. France sends 10,000 to protect Hanoi.
PORTUGAL SPACE! Portugal continues its space dreams. It develops and build advanced rockets. They now need to develop human training, and they could send the first man into space! Portugal also trades in its Medium Tanks for Dublin tanks.
NUCLEAR ARMS! Although Yugoslavia improves its economy rather than go after nuclear arms, Spain begins to develop its own program. Although enough money for it, they also improve military, so they need 20 more wc.
MIDDLE EAST ON EDGE! British forces have reported that a rebel army is forming in Iraq, Jordan and Yemen. If nothing is done soon, it will turn into a full fledged rebellion.

We will give you computers or Improved Tank Armor or strategic missiles for 20 wc, carrier jets for 25 and advanced jets for 30.
From USSR
To anyone in Warsaw pact:
We will give you Improved Tank armor for 25wc, computers for 20, or Advanced Jet Engines for 30. We will also give you the tech for MIG-15s for 30 WC, and the MIG-17 for 50(better deal than mig-15 and improved jet engines combined)

To France:
Stop your nuclear build up at once, or we will consider it an act of war. Especially after your ally has killed our allys leader.

We did not assasinate northern Spain's leader. If you recall a few short months before the formation of Mediteranea, the souther Spainish leader was nearly assasinated. This leads us to believe an outside power is at work to divide the alliance of western capitalism and western communism.
This outside power is the Soviet Union and their Warsaw pawns. They are an evil empire in this world, and they are more corrupt than any true communist nation should be. They have corrupted the noble idea of Marx. They now obviously seek to devour the world one nation at a time. We will no longer put up with this.
We announce that if the Soviets or any of the Warsaw Pact proceed to invade any other nation we will declare war. We plead for the other nations of the West to take a similar stand and help us finally halt the barbarians from the steppes in their plan for world empire.
