Red vs Blue

The Halo machinma (sp?) has finally had it's series finale. Episode 100 was released about two days ago, bringing an end to the popular series. You can watch the final episode here.

So, I was interested if any other CFCer's kept up with RvB. If so, any comments? I am personally kind of disappointed that it's over.. it was hilarious. Better than most series they actually show on TV.

For those of you who don't know what it is:

Red vs. Blue: The Blood Gulch Chronicles, often abbreviated as RvB, is a machinima comic science fiction video series created by Rooster Teeth Productions and distributed primarily through the Internet and DVD. The series chronicles the story of two opposing teams of soldiers fighting a civil war in the middle of a desolate box canyon (Blood Gulch), in a parody of first-person shooter (FPS) games, military life, and science fiction films. Initially intended to be a short series of six to eight episodes, the project quickly and unexpectedly achieved significant popularity following its April 1, 2003, Internet premiere. Rooster Teeth therefore decided to extend the series, whose fifth season premiered publicly on October 2, 2006.

You can download all of Season 5 online for free on the official website. The rest you can find fairly easily for download on other websites or you can go to Gamestop and buy the DVD's.

Episode 100 was announced to be the "finale." Plus they've just started a new series called 1-800-MAGIC.

Yes, I have seen all of Episode 100. Although it's not really much of a spoiler to say something about it . Personally, I prefer the last one the best.

Red VS. Blue= Republicans VS Democrats

I almost thought it was too, but that was because I was thinking "It has to be a political thread. Who here watches Red VS. Blue?" because you guys have a lot of boring (in my opinion) issues about terrorism and religion and stuff.

Anyway, it's sad to see Red VS Blue end...

Something I still haven't figured out: why the heck did Tex suddenly side with Omega/O'Malley right at the end, after spending 99 episodes hating him/trying to get him out of her head/dying to do that previous one/just generally hating him???

Another question I've never been able to answer is what reason Vic had to pose as both Red Command and Blue Command and play both sides against each other. I spent most of the series wondering if the characters on the Red and Blue teams would discover that their whole universe was just a video game (that's the only explanation I could think of), but of course that didn't happen.

Edit: On the Vic angle--at the point where Vic Jr. tells somebody on the Blue team "Hahaha! That's a good one. Blue command. WINK! Dude--I've got a lot to catch you up on....." the series never seemed to catch the rest of us up on it. Anyone got any idea what's the what here?

I don't think it ever really answers that question.

Do you remember the episode when church went back in time in an attempt to stop/fix everything that happened? While back in time he mentions to Vic that Red and Blue are the same.

Once again, as far as I know. It's never been cleared up.

One of the things I didn't get, is how did Gamma get into the past before Church to sit there in the computer?

Wasn't he not programmed yet? And if it's going to rely on the Lopez + Weather machine explosion, how did he get there before Church?

There was this whole scheme to use Jr (not Vic, but Tucker's little alien buddy) to control the Covenant. They would think the munchkin was a savior of sorts and then the humans could pull his strings and then the humans would defeat the covenant forever. When Tex learned of this she realized she needed to side with O'Malley in order to win the "war", because to her that's all that matters, while most of the rest of the guys just wanted to stay alive.

As far as Vic...maybe this whole thing was planned all along? I don't really remember, but it's a possibility.

Aha, there's the key.

The thing I kept forgetting when watching Red vs. Blue was that the series still has the war between the Humans and the Covenant in it. Problem is, the entire series only refers to that war once. "I remember Master Chief blowing up the whole Covenant armada, and then I ended up here."
