RedAlert's city previews

I've yet to check that, although I will shortly (I'm nearly done).
I'll post you a screenie when I do. I hope they'll look alright.

Here's how they look in the editor. All the animals are there (they aren't labelled though, I figured they're easy enough to distinguish). I see the wolf needs a little bit of a touch up, but other than that, do they look half decent?

Nice resources :D
I think the Gorilla is a bit dark though - maybe make him a silverback?
The Jaguar looks a bit too small IMO.
Otherwise they are all great, especially the Panda.

Thanks for the input. The guerilla is now lighter and the jaguar larger.

Almost done!

Hmmm.... decisions, decisions.....

Perhaps I'll just open them all up and see which one I end up editing.

5th era....For scenarios mostly, not epic game..I think they would be sweet.

I've recently been trying to think of all the improvements and wonders I'll need for my mod. I've started with ancient greece. I thought I'd post ideas (and later on, previews) here.
Don't worry, I'll still be doing cities in the meantime ;)

Anyway, this is what I have so far, what I may attempt to make:

Wonders

- Palace of Minos (a minoan palace)
- Treasury of Atreus (large domed structure in Mycenae)

Improvements

- Hill Fort (a traditional Mycenaean hill fort)

I do have a question concerning the Treasury of Atreus. Does anybody know - has it always been underground?

So what I'd like to know, basically, is if anything like these have already been done (because there are not really many improvements or wonders that need to be created anymore, thanks to our hard working creators). And if these are good ideas and would be welcome additions (or not).
Also, if anyone has anything to add, feel free.

Edit: On a different topic, Sword of Geddon, I recently had an idea that it could be possible to have city graphics for all eras including future, simply by adding a fifth row of cities to the graphic file. Unfortunately it turns out it's not possible to do so (as far as I know, anyway) as ingame the cities came out horribly wrong. Oh well, it was a nice idea while it lasted.

In the Odyessey, people are described as "descending" into "vaults" where the precious stores of the Royal house- such as fine wines, carpets, fabrics, wepaons and treasure, amoung many othe ritems- were stored- IMO, these are identifyable as the "treasuires" found on the larger Mycenaean Palace sites;

IMO, these means they were probabley pre-buried, or had sub-surface entrences, but were impressive structes large enough to span well into the air...

my advice, make a few examples, post them, and then we can all decide

Don't fret, Ekmek. I'll most definately have the US cities done way before that. OAnd, actually, before most other things I'm working on.

I like to work on several things at once because it keeps me occupied. If I just worked non - stop on one single thing, I would probably get bored of it and drop it all together. The way I like to do things, not everything will always get done quickly, but they will get done nonetheless ;)

Xen - thanks for the help. I'm personally leaning towards making the ToA not underground. Although it would be more difficult, it would probably look nicer, as I'm not completely confident in my ability to make a half decent looking hill (you'd think it would be easier :crazyeye: )

But anyway, we'll see.

I know how you feel. I'm working on the ACM and Colony Wars at the same time. Colony Wars is frustrating me however, because I'm short civs for it, and I really don't like the idea of a scenerio, even though for purposes of the story its the best approach. Theres also Far Horizons: Heart of Destiny, and the Legends and Myths Mod...

Long time, no post. :D

I have been working in this time, though; and I have much to show for it. Below is just a few of the things I've been doing - As you can see, two native american cities and one middle eastern. I'll be posting more later on as well.

btw, I probably won't be doing those improvements and wonders I posted earlier (not them in particular, anyway. I may still try some somewhere down the road). Once I get all the ones I need compiled, I'll likely just put them in a great big request thread and keep those improvement / wonders creators busy :p
(If they'd be kind enough to take on the task, that is)
