Relations between Civs with different religions

Everybody knows that relations between two civilizations get worse if they have different religions. But sometimes they have "-2" and sometimes "-4" in relations because of religions. So my question is what makes this "minus" in relations greater or less? Does it depend on specific combinations of religions?

I think it has to do with the personality of the AI leaders involved. E.g., Isabella gets really pissed if you have a different religion, Qin is just mildly irritated.

It can also be the fact that you're using a different religion that the AI has the holy city, vs. a religion that the AI doesn't own the holy city.
So, when I was using a religion Catherine had founded, she wasn't overly happy, but she wasn't trying to slap me when I ask for a trade. When I used her state religion, she was rather happy and would almost trade everything with me. When I went back to my own religion (because the large majority of AIs are using my own), she instantly get annoyed with a -4.

So as I understand nobody knows EXACTLY how all this works :(

If you have the holy city for the religion that your AI opponent has for it's state religion, and you dont have that religion as your state religion, then they'll be extra ticked at you.

The plusses and minuses also increase as time goes on with neither of you switching religions.
