I found the release date for CiV. Not sure if it was already found or not, but I didn't see it on here so I assumed it wasn't.

According to the pre-order page:
Released on: 2010-09-01
Civ V Pre-Order

Just thought I would share this with everyone. If I didn't find something new feel free to delete this thread. It is important to keep the board as non-cluttered as possible (as it is quite cluttered as is).

:goodjob:That's awesome! Still not sure if that is a definite release date, but the preorder I think makes it likley. Thanks for the info!

And other sites say later. Its not definite.

Also, @OP
Thats the Civ4 icon you're using in the title.

yes, first day of Autumn is when a Autumn game is listed as coming out until actual date is released

There doesn't seem to be a Civ5 icon. I hope they keep this date. I like to know when things are due to come out. Makes it easier to plan my camp outs. xD

Is the icon for CiV available as a post icon yet though? I may have just missed it. Anyhow, I hope they don't push back the date.

 no it is not - the admins will need to add it...

edit: posted it in Site Feedback

I would not put any faith in the Sept 1 release dates. Firaxis announces "Fall", meaningt hey hope to get it out before Xmas. Retailers then put out the earliest possible date that could conceivably be true given the announced "Fall", so as to try to maximize their chance of getting pre-orders.

Imagine; if one site said Oct 1 and another said Sept 1, many people would think that the former was somehow "slow" and that they'd get it faster from the latter, so they'd pre-order from there. Hence, everyone puts the earliest date available, even when nobody really thinks the game will be available by that date.

Retailers then adjust their release dates closer to the time, once the game companies actually give them some more accurate information.

I doubt it would be that early. Have they done any QA testing on the game at all?

We still haven't hardly heard a thing about the game. I want to hear about more features :(. Why keep us in the dark? The fact they are keeping us in the dark means they are still hard at work, and are still adjusting many features. And that means they are still changing the game.
