Because I could do the German translation of your improvments (added Strategy information) then.

I am just asking because it simply does not make much sense to start translations on texts that are still heavily in work.

For Yields, Bonus Resources and Units I am largely done, at least on the Strategy texts. Though I sometimes correct minor errors and make minor changes, for example to include links to new Game Concept entries.

But these usually concern only single words and sentences, there won't be any changes to the main structure, so for the translations, you can go ahead.:)
 
Ok, then I will work on adapting your improvments of English Texts for Yields, Bonus Resources and Units to the German translations. :thumbsup:
(I will ignore Game Concepts for now.)
 
I added 2 new Promotions:
(Buttons from Schmiddie)

Ship Carpenter I + II
(Will allow ships to heal a bit better.)

Reason:
Also in Ship Combat, there are now more battles where both sides survive.
(Being able to heal your ships a bit faster will be quite interesting / useful now.)

Hi ray,

Do you intend to add more promotions for ships?

I fancy the following promotions could be nice:

- Skilled Crew (fighting strength + 5%)
- Courier (speed / +1 radius)
- Proper rigging (retreat likelihood + 10%)

Just a suggestion... :)

I would generally like to have some more promotions for ships and land units.

It will become necessary to add a few new functionalities to Promotions (and of course Promotions itself) anyways for the
Rebuild of the Military / Combat System that is planned after we have published Release 2.1.

For example I would like to adapt the following functionalities of Promotions from Civ4:

* Colateral Damage
* Protection against Colateral Damage
* First Strikes
* Immunity to First Strikes
...

Also, when adding new Combat Types, Promotions will need to be adjusted as well.

So when doing all of that, we could of course also add a few more Promotions for ships that make sense. :)

For the moment though I would prefer to focus on finishing open todos, doing some improvments, doing some proper testing and finally publishing Release 2.1.
(This weekend I spent almost all my available time for modding on quality control, testing, improvments and translations. This will probably not change until the release.)

The model is based on the Civ5 galleon and Colonization galleon animations. Furthermore I have made some improvements.

I suggest to change the current "carrack" model with this one. What do you think?

Please, return Collateral Damage feature in Colonization. Up to now all cannons and artillery units are working as "renaissance mobile artillery". :worship: :worship: :worship:
 
Hi dear modders

I have a small feature request.

In the original colonization you could see how many of each good you had exported under the trade report screen. I have not been able to find it in Civ4Col.
I just always thought it was nice to see how many 1000s of tonnes of something you had exported, just for immersion. Any chance that feature will be brought back?

There is always "a chance". :)
But I won't promise anything myself, since I first need to take care of "higher priorities" and have very little time left for modding.

The model isn't completely finished yet. The damage texture will not work...I will publish the model as soon as I have solved this problem. :)

EDIT: Solved.
 
I have committed the last of the Game Concept texts. All of them have been updated to the latest revision of RaR, except for "Combat," as the combat system will be getting a major overhaul, and it would be wiser to wait for that first.

But for all other texts, I likely won't be making any major changes anymore, so feel free to add your translations!:goodjob:

Today Germany is playing in the Soccer World Championship against Portugal.

Instead of watching that game at a public viewing place with my friends and drinking beer,
I will lie in my bed and have some tea ... :mad:


So except a bit of testing (autoplay, testplaying, checking logs) I haven't done much considering modding the last days.

But I will get to the German translations of your text improvments once I feel better and have some time.

I can't give you what you really want, but I dug up the next best thing I could imagine as a get well present.

Hopefully RaR development will get back on track soon. I still plan to look into why checkPower() fails the assert check in CvPlayer::doTurn(). It mean that the cached power the AI use to determine diplomatic actions is incorrect. The AI doesn't appear really stupid in this regard meaning the bug isn't critical, but it would still be nice to know that it works as intended.

The reason why I haven't looked into it yet is partly due to not knowing where in the code it goes wrong. I will presumably have to add asserts in plenty of locations to pinpoint precisely where it fails to narrow down where it goes wrong. Another reason is that I spent my modding time on M:C :p

RaR development still is on track. :)

We are simply in the "Finetuning and Testing" phase before the release.
That is the main reason, why we currently don't create any new features or implement any major changes.

We are mainly working on finishing up some quality todos but of course those take a bit of time as well.
(Texts, translations, graphics, ...)

Otherwise there is only testing to be done.

So there currently is nothing critical that would prevent our release in a few weeks. :thumbsup:

Well, that game was for sure the most interesting in this World Championship until now. :thumbsup:
 
Made good progress with the German translations today. :)
(I am translating the recent English Colopedia improvments from agnat86)

I am pretty confident, that I will be able to finish the German translations until the end of next weekend.

Also, I have been doing some testing and am pretty satisfied with the result. :)
(Including long autoplay, several checks of logs, ...)

So for the Release 2.1 we only have the following open todos:

1. Two Achievments for Seafights (images are still missing)
2. List of nationspecific names for Admirals. (see here)
3. French Translations
