(Actually, I think he meant lust directed towards someone else if you are married. Having pleasurable sex is okay, just read Song of Solomon. All they do is talk about sex - God doesn't even rate a mention - and the Jews still canonized it, so it must be okay.)

(If I ever got married, I still wouldn't do it even thinking about my wife. But that is because I think masturbation is gross, not because I think it is a sin. If I needed to give a sperm sample, I would be thinking of my wife . . .)

If you've had wet dreams and woke up after the fact then you only get the downside of it.. not very useful for judging masturbation I would think..

And of course mutual sex is better, but it's also 'grosser', so if 'gross' is a downside for you then I figure sex would be no better than masturbation.. though I've never thought of either as 'gross', I'm not sure if this is 5th grade or something..?

And yes, I keep bringing up my manual virginity. I swear, I don't always mean to, and I am certainly not bragging or anything. Maybe I should just put it in my sig and be done with it. At any rate, the only reason I mention it is because it is ultimately the possible unpleasantness, moreso than moral considerations, that have brought me here.

Try thinking only about your spouse when masturbating, especially after being married for more than a few years. I wouldn't know by experience, but I know what I would do.

Well the sperm that isn't ejected returns back to the source (the body), but sperm that are ejaculated are wasted proteins, so perhaps the various religious prohibition against masturbation is a taboo against wasting valuable bodily resources.
