Relive World Wars

Relive World Wars v6.1

Hi guys - great mod! Fun to play and works pretty well. I used to mod a lot in Civ IV but haven't had time to do much with Civ V or VI. Trying to get my hand back in by tweaking my local version of your mod for some simple things. Examples include updating the text for leaders and civs (done and works) to tweaking units, districts, buildings, etc. I'm trying to fix/change the upgrade tree for aircraft (fighters, fighter-bombers and bombers) but am having a hard time figuring out which file to edit in your mod. In the base game it's defined in units.xml under <UnitUpgrades>. Where can I find this in your mod?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

I found lots of bugs when playing the GS version.
Gemarny is not albe to build units requiring the industrial zone like anti-air and heavy tank. I think it's because the Hansa replaces the industrial zone?
Coastal tiles will provide a standard adjacency bonus to the industrial zone and commercial hub, which isn't listed in description.
The upgrade system of units is confusing. For example I don't know why the MAUSER 98 cann't upgrade to Kar98K (the Civilopedia says can but I found cann't).
Some requirements are difficult to find out, such as when can I harvest a marsh. I think it can be added to the Civilopedia.
The description says that an artillery factory can build only 1 railway artillery, but I can build arbitrarily.
I cann't find where to build the military engineer.
The antiquity site system is totally not of use.
The report screen is almost not of use.
The description of era in some national ideas, military engineer and great people are not updated. And some great people's descriptions are blank.

I'll check into that for sure, thanks for the feedback. It will help me check for bugs.

For Germany, you are probably right.
Railway artillery has no more limit. Others units had limits before and since the AI is too stupid to make those with the proper building, I've decided to put this option aside. I'm gonna check text to delete the confusion.
For military engineer, me and my friend spotted a bug for them, which prevent them to make railroad.
The antiquity site are note working since of an archaeologist bug, which was spotted with my friend.
I don't have a lot of time to make all these changes right now, but be reassure that I'm working on an update.

Hello, thank you for this fun mod! I’m playing it on Mac and it’s working great. I can confirm the bug military engineer “build road” is always grayed out and never works. Same with combat engineer.

I’d love to load this mod into a map with preset cities already set up, as others have posted, and I see on steam something about using YNAMP (spelling?) and something else in combination with your mod, but I’m confused by old posts and how to do it. Anyone have any clear instructions on this?

Working on a new update to make it work with the "Australian summer patch".

Update is up for the Australian summer patch under v.4
Has David Lloyd George replaced George V for the WW1 British Leader, yet?

From what I know there is the YnAMP (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2071781082) that work with the vanilla version of this mod.

Not yet but I'm actually working on fixing some major issues with the GS version, then I was planning on tweaking and adding some leader so I'll try to keep that in mind.

Officially, I'll push a new version of the GS version this week with some major bug issue fix and some tweaking over the description text over units to be more representative of their bonuses (not all unit will be done yet but still).

Hi, thank you for this mod. When using the "Relive World Wars - GS - Official" mod with YNAMP, some of the civ's are missing from the maps when TSL is selected (ex: AUSTRIA_HUNGARY). I see that there is a Ynamp_ModSupport.sql file in the Data folder of your mod. I used the info from Ynamp_ModSupport.sql to manually edit the YNAMP map.xml files to add the TSL for the missing civ's. It looks like YNAMP is not reading the Ynamp_ModSupport.sql file to automatically add the TSL's to the maps. Is there a way to get YNAMP to read this file? I dont mind making the changes myself to make this work.

Hey !
Thanks for the reminder, I've completly forgot to check this file since my GS version. Too much on my mind sometimes hehe!
My guess is that Ynamp has been updated since last time I've try (which mean like more than a year ago).
But, the file should load since it is in the .modinfo file. I've gotta check further for a better solution.

Hi. This a very cool mod. Keep up the great work!

I was wondering though if you could maybe make a mod that has had some of the leaders that don't have their own mods, such as FDR, Afonso XIII, Victoria Emanuel III, Pilsudski, etc. available to play with in the normal game.

Thanks, Allein
I've tried Ynamp and it seems to work on my side... maybe it was just the missing new civ/leaders that I've added.
But now I realize there seems to be a problem with the original TSL map which are not loading. I can't find what the problem seems to be...

Sincerely, I prefer to tune up the mod then to make individual civ within the original game.

Awesome! I'm excited to see the following leaders as individual mods; Franklin Delano Roosevelt of America, George V of England, Wilhelm II of Germany, Georges Clemenceau of France, Vittorio Emanuel III of Italy, Afonso XIII of Spain, Francisco Franco of Spain, Hideki Tojo of Japan, Taisho Tenno of Japan, Yuan Shikai of China, Chiang Kai-shek of China, Józef Piłsudski of Poland, Haakon VII of Norway and William Lyon Mackenzie King of Canada. This is because these leaders don't already have individual mods.

I'm made some leader art for WWI and WWII era leaders. Are interesting in making those leaders into mods as well? I'm going to post them in my leader art thread.

Merry Christmas!

I really love this mod, it’s made the original game seem boring now with all the added detail you’ve created. Great work!

One issue at the moment that I keep coming across though is that ocean travel is blocked for some reason? Going by the tech descriptions I would’ve thought Steam Power would be the one to unlock it but none of my units can enter ocean tiles even into the mid/late game… any advice?

Nice to hear that from time to time, instead of being spam of negative non-construtive comment !

But your guess was right, it is suppose to be with steam power that all unit get to go to the ocean tiles. I've tried starting a game in World war I and the problem does not seems to appear, I didn't even notice with my friend while playing either...
What civ/leader are you playing ? I could try with it to see if something different happens.

It fits right into my interests as well, so I really enjoy it.

You’re right, that’s what I’ve been doing. From WW1 onwards, it’s not a problem.

I started as Winston Churchill on a TSL YNAMP Earth map but have noticed it was the same as one or two other leaders on random maps as well.

Thanks for your reply!
