renaming units

A quick question (i hope this is the right forum.. if it isnt im sorry. Im kinda a newb in some general stuff in the game.

How do you rename units (not after they win a battle and make a MGL). Just renaming in general, like you rename cities. Is this available only in PTW? Cause i have conquests. Thanks

Shift-N should do the trick

I think you can also right click to rename.

Also, if you've turned on "advanced unit buttons" in preferences there will be a rename button when the unit is selected.

I'm a half-newbie too and only have civ 3 without the expansions. Why does civ3edit keep making my home-made scenarios crash?

Hyperbaldie, I get that too when making maps. I'm thinking it's because I have an old computer. What are your computer's specs?

thanks. Pressing shift-N does it. This can be locked or whatever you want to do with it.
