Repost: How Old Were You When You First Played Civ?

I was 15 and i was very sick... but even in that way, I've played one and once, because it was an excellent game.:king:

im 12 and ive been playing civ since i was 6?:crazyeye:

Im 15 and Ive been playing Civ since I was 11.

I remember ordering it in a scholastic book order (which always had crappy educational games) It turned out to be amazingly addictive and quite fun. It also sparked my interest of history and social studies. Its really the only video game (besides Madden) that I play.

I'm 15 as well.

I've been playing since I was 10. I bought Civ 3 and went through a series of addictions and un-addictions until May 2005. (Hint: Check my join date) Now, I can't get enough, even though I play Civ 3 except for Democracy Games and Multi-Player games in 4.

EDIT: In relation to other games, Madden and FIFA are the only other 2 games I play as consistently. But Call of Duty 2 gets played by me here and there.

Civ 1 when it was new, I guess I must have been 30 or so.

I started playing Civ (Civ2, to be exact) in 1997, when I got my first computer. :) I was 17 at that time.

Civ2 was one of the first two PC games I bought (the other game was Heroes of Might and Magic II). At that time I knew nothing about Civ or HoMM and I bought them because of the awards mentioned on the box.

97/98 - can't remember which year exactly, but it was Civ2 and part of a pack that included Settlers II and Sim City 2000. I bought it for the latter, not knowing what Civ was, but it proved to be the most enduring. And of course, it led me through a merry chase to this site, where the game outlived itself through many fantastic scenarios and mods! :D

Dude! :goodjob:

I'd give you a high five, but I'm worried about one of us having osteoporosis... ;)

First Civ Played was Civ 2 when I was 8
Played Civ 1 when i was 11
Played Civ 3 when I was 12
Played Civ 4 when I was 14

Old enough to have been many of your fathers <sigh>. And grandfather for many just starting with Civ4.

Dont feel old AncientPlayer, I was 40 in 1991 when Civ I came out.

I've played all versions a lot, and the only one I didn't like was the Windows 3.1 version. I liked the DOS version better. However Civ II was a major improvment and I've always played the newest versions since then.

Civ 1, simcity, and X-wings

You had some quality games! The first pc game I bought with my own money was X-wing and I loved it. Sim city I didnt play till I was 13 but I was hooked once I did (too bad it hasnt evolved much since then).

I first played civ 2 when I was 17. My boss said I should try it. He told me about all the buildings and units you could build. When he told me you could build SDI, I just had to try. I thought it sucked...I hated it. The graphics were awful, the ai was impossible to beat, I couldnt build anything "cool". My boss told me to stick it out and give it time. I did...and it became one of my top 5 games of all time, something I was still playing before civ 4 came out.

I was thirteen now fourteen so civ 4 but i have ordered civ chronicles for xmas.

My first Civ experience was Civ1 for the SNES back when I was 10 or so.

Yes, I know the SNES version was terrible, but back when I got it I thought it was the greatest thing going. I begged my parents to buy a PC JUST so I could play Civ2, which I loved even more.

I played this version, in my early 20's. a friend of mine and i would play together, once we had two cities, we would each take control of one and everything built off of it. i also played the pc version, which you are correct is much better.
