request a strategy article on maintenance and FP and Versailles

in civ3, the corruption and how it is alleviatee by forbidden palace has been thoroughly looked into. i'm just wondering whether anyone can look into how FP and Versailles improve the economy in civ4. whether, where and when it is worthwhile to built them. thx!

You want to minimize the sum of distances from all cities to the nearest Palace/FP/Versailles. If you have a single colony halfway around the world, you should seriously consider building a palace there.

Or you could switch to State Property and avoid all the messy math.
