There aren't many flavor artillery pieces out there, so here are some that could be usefull :)

German WW2 Light artillery (10.5 cm): (looks a lot like the Krupps Howitzer that has already been made, but a new version wouldn't hurt anyone, not necessairy though ;))

German WW2 Heavy artillery (15cm):

NebelWerfer (rocketlauncher):

American 'long tom' 155mm artillery:

American 240mm gun:

Some AntiTank guns would also be nice :)

WRONG FORUM

ask for request in the unit request thread or creation forum.

aww...

guess i better leave the clumps to zulu..

padma just killed my experience in this... fun while it lasted though. :D

My first wrong forum ever :)

Here is a pictures of an AntiTan gun:

German Pak40 (is it me, or does this look a lot like the Civ artillery?):

And this is a model I found, it is the M1 6lb gun :) 3dstudio cannon

Any howitzer would be great, especially a vietnam-era light howitzer. A big ww2 one would be nice also.

Some Mobile Artillery for ww2 and beyond is much needed, as well as a desert storm howitzer.

So yeah, more artillery!!

I'd like to see the cannon here made. Slightly different area, but it would provide an American cannon flavor unit.

Some WW2 mobile artillery has been made, by Ripptide, Katyusha, Wespe, Wurfrahmen, Grille, Priest...
Also IIRC a Paladin has been made too. :)

Normally artillery shouldn't be too hard to animate (I think), so I hope a unit creator will take up some of these requests :)

To get an idea of the field piece I'm talking about, here's a description:
105mm Light Gun

The versatile 105 mm Light Gun is used by the Parachute and Commando Field Artillery Regiments of the British Army. The Light Gun can be towed by a medium-weight vehicle (such as a Pinzgauer TUM/HD or Hagglund BV206 all-terrain vehicle) or carried around the battlefield underslung by a Puma or Chinook helicopter.
Royal Artillery L118 Light Guns are fitted with an Automatic Pointing System, which enables the gun to be unlimbered and in action in 30 seconds. APS is based on an inertial navigation system; operated via a touch screen, it replaces the traditional dial sight. New Light Gun ammunition is in development, with an increasingly lethal round and an extended range.

Taken from this site.

This would be a powerful, mobile, modern light piece to replace the Artillery in the game. This would compliment air-mobile foot units who could take and hold territory behind enemy lines with the 105's assistance. The RADAR Artillery would continue to be the heavy slugger for your armored forces.

I was wondering how the animations should be done, after all, you can't have an infantry man pushing some of those big guns in the run animation :D
So, the animation should either be without a soldier and have abstract movement, or with multiple soldiers then pulling the gun in the run. Or, like Wyrm made one, a truck pulling it and stuff, but that animation would perhaps be too difficult :)

So, with or without the soldier? :D

I must say, that I'm tempted to do a WW1 cannon/howizer. Like french De Bange 155 mm cannon 1877 without recoil system :) (altough I think, that I wouldn't add any people using it - like there's none in the civ3 arty).

Notice the recognizable tires.

Good to see your interest Aaglo ;)

A small poll: would people like it if the artillery had soldiers manning it?
IMO there should be some men, but have the move animation be 'abstract', with the soldiers following (or doing some pushlike things) the moving artillery piece.
Any artillery that is and weither it gets done is up to the creators, as always ;)

having a soldier manning the artillery piece is a bonus IMO. though i s'pose that it'd make the project much more difficult for the creator. either way, i'd be thrilled to get a new arty piece; especially a pre wwII one

Here's a quick preview of my afternoon chores.

How's this?
I can try to add a few dudes in there somewhere, but I'm not sure if I can make them do anything useful/meaningful (except running by the cannon :p )

@aaglo

that looks fantastic!

i've been waiting sooo long for you to make a non-fantasy unit!! yeehaw!!
(not that i don't like your units, i most certainly do; i just find it hard to use them)

maybe a fella in the back loading in the shell?

I could attempt at making one.
Looking through it looks like I will either try this one:
15-cmNbW.jpg

or this one:
155mm.jpg

I wont have it done as quick as aaglo will get his done though.

After thinking about it i will go with the Rocket Launcher. Anyone have a back view of it?

Edit: Note: I wouldnt be able to add guys myself.
