Request: Special Session

I would like to request a special play session, for the purpose of setting the pre-turn citizen assignments and build queues, advancing the turn, and then saving the game immediately. We need information which will be revealed by this move:

  • Berlin is in resistance which will end on the end of turn. After that, it will be possible to plan the city's build and tile usage. It would be a very bad move to go a full play session without knowing this information.
  • Edit: we'll also know how much city maintenance costs in Berlin, which will guide our economic policy
  • We will see what moves Germany might make in the IBT, which will provide our Warlord with valuable information on how to counter such moves, or knowledge that nothing important will change at least for the first inter-turn.
The floor is now open for discussion and citizen approval. If a poll is requested, one will be opened, however I hope to get unanimous consent.

If the special play session is approved, the Chieftain will designate who plays, and this will not count as a session in the DP Pool order.

I agree to this and as DP am willing to play the special session. BTW, Guilds is also done in one turn.

Depends on whether we make your requested changes to NotA's citizens. Taking off the 2 scientists lengthened Guilds to 2 turns. (was researching the economics thread and discovered that)

There were several other MM'ing that needs to be done that will increase our :science:/t throughout my aimag and possibly decrease it. Good point though, without knowing everyone's plans on their aimag, we can't definitely say when Guilds will finish.

I agree to a special play session too. I don't have any objections against Methos playing it either.

I have no objections, to the session.

I may add some promotions and unit renaming. I would also like to ask Methos to name his longbowmen along the lines of [CITY NAME INSERT + GUARD].
I would also like to set up movement lanes for troops moving internally.

By the way you can increase the science being produced in City 1, move a citizen working a newly built cottage to a scientist specialist, this will counter some of the lost science in NOTA

If there is no objection, Methos needs to start an instruction thread and give folks at least 24 hours for specific instructions for the preturn. Then the regular play session may need to be pushed out if anyone thinks we won't be ready by the target date of Thursday.

Edit: there's a law which specifies the amount of lead time. I don't know if it's only 24 hours, or longer. Someone please look it up, I'm going offline for a while.

Is the city at its cap right now? Specialists slow down growth, where extra citizens add to the base. It can be a good decision, but the balance needs to be weighed.

It will slow growth by 1 turn, it near the end of growing to the next level, then if the new worker works the tile that was worked on, it will produce the same amount of food as before

About builds, I think we should make out Organized Religion to do as many buildings as possible, not squander the 25 % speed bonus.

Also, I only need catapults now, so clean the build queues in NOTA and Riversight for builds of units after current, and reopen CATAPULT production in Coppertown (please - it was a request, not order).

Done, it can be found here.

Please post very detailed instructions in that thread please. When it comes to MM'ing, things can get a little confusing.

I agree with this. (But I just made all screenshots for the SotE thread, and now I'll have to do them again )

This is one of the problems with NOTA. It has the ability to grow another six citizens, yet is just barely pushing forward. I plan on increasing its growth rate even though that will lessen our :science:/t. In the long run, I feel this will benefit us more.

so clean the build queues in NOTA

Odd, the way I had it figured earlier NOTA should have produced its four LB and still had turns left over. I notice NOTA is still producing LB, so I'm curious, how many did she produce?

Methos, this is the very last one. :) Which is good.

All I need now is a few catapults, as we need Vassalage, or the upkeep will kill us.
