What is the secrecy behind successful shadowing? I edited this shrine resource from civ3's temple, checked and it worked fine. Then decided to do shadows for it, I have both resources.pcx and resources_shadows.pcx in my personal mod scenario folder - but the game crashed everytime when I tried to test the resource in action.

Then renamed the resources_shadows.pcx to somethin else to see if the game works without it, and it did - of course w/o shadows. I don't think there's necessarily something wrong with the pic but I sure can't tell where's the problem is. Must the _shadows.pcx be in some specific folder or...?

What gives?

Hmm. I'm not really sure what the problem would be. I've added resources with and without shadows and they all work fine. I was going to take a look at your file, but the link doesn't work.

I zoomed in on your shadow, there is some blue in it. Then i looked at the normal shadows, no blue. I dont know if this is the problem, but i just noticed it.

Here is your Shrine resource added into the "resouces" and "resources_shadows" pcx files. I don't have the CD here at work, so I can't test it; but it should work.

Ok, thanks everybody. I solved the problem by comparing the two pix - I had added some resources before, and now that I added more I made larger resource.pcx again and this time I just forgot to increase the size of resource_shadows.pcx to the same size - I increased it but some 10 pixels too much.

And because it was a simple mistake I didn't notice it earlier, but started to think about some major mystical hard-code problem. Sorry I troubled you.

But that was obviously the governements fault, our new prime minister drives me nuts just by looking at her.
