there is evidence the bow was used in the Andes around the time of the Inca. But they preferred the Atl-atl and the sling.
Their Amazonian tribal allies did use the bow

The infantryman you have in the "Unsure" category for the Early Korean post is possibly Baekje. :) I've noticed that two of your pictures are from the movie "Hwangsanbeol." The buff bearded guy in the black armor actually portrayed a Gyebaek, a Baekje general, not a Silla one. ;) Great pic of the Goguryeo cataphract there. For more Goguryeo cavalry pics, put "개마무사" in an image search on Google and you'll get lots of pics.

If you can't find stuff for Goryeo, their armor would have likely drawn inspirations from both the Chinese and the Central Asians (Khitans, Mongols, etc.); Koreans used "Mongol-type" helmets.

Here's a pic depicting the Sambyeolcho of Goryeo:

    Hey SK,

Thanks for this compilation - somehow I've missed it.

    Observation & Question:

    O: Some images aren't appearing.

Q: Were the Inca ignorant of bows and arrows?

    Many Thanks,

    Oz

The Inca had bows, indeed, and also employed native rainforest tribes as mercenaries, many of which would have been archers :)

Well, many of the images I uploaded myself, others I got from other websites, so their sites may be down, or they might have removed the image.

The bow and arrow is quite new in the Americas. It was first invented in North America around 500 ad, and was introduced into Mesoamerica by the Chichimec invaders around 1100ad. I am not sure when the South American invented in, or if it was introduced by the Mesoamericans.
The bow was mostly used by the Amazonian tribes. The Inca prefered the ancient atl-atl, but mostly the sling.
