Ressources-Icon for Wondian Rules 1.3

Hi,

I installed the Wondian Rules 1.3, it's really funny - good work -
but I have a problem the new ressources will be shwon as a simple point - no special icon for this new ressources ...

now, I have downloaded a collection of ressources (new ressources.pcx)

How I can fit the ressources-file to 'wondian rules' ?
with which graphic-tool I can edit ressources-file ? and what is important if I edit this file?

You can edit the resource-file with programs like "Micrografx Picture Publisher", "Corel Draw" or "Paint Shop Pro". If edit the file then you should pay attention to the lines (which divide the picture into the pictures for every resource), because this are borders between the resources and must be there (so don't remove them or anything else).
 
It's possible to do this with MS Photo Editor too. It's of course a bit more difficult than with a "real" graphic program like paint shop.

You can copy and paste resources, but this destroys the first resource of your resources.pcx (mostly the horse). So AFTER you've edited the resources, you have to copy and paste the first resource (horse) together with the borderlines .

You even can make those nas... er nice icons of the civilopedia using MS Paint, but this destroys your colors, so it's a bit of a pain to get the right color for the background.

is the number of ressources important for the ressources-file,
so I have ca. 33 ressources at the game and about 50 at the file?!

What is the right sequense for the ressources ;
bonus, luxury, strategy or how? or have the sequense for the ressources nothing to do with bonus, luxury and so on.?
so that I have the right icon for the ressources, e.g. coal-icon for coal and not coal-icon for iron.

well, you can use only the first 36 slots of resources.pcx for the game itself. Above No. 36 they are invisible - contributing food etc. to the tile, but you can't see them.

the first 8 slots of the resources.pcx are strategic resources, I don't know if they cause a crash when setting them as bonus resources, but i don't think so. Do not set them as luxuries!

The slots 9-16 are luxuries. Important:
Don't set slots 9-16 as strategic or bonus resources.
Only slots 9-16 are luxuries. (max: 8 luxuries. NO MORE)
Only replace the pics of luxuries in slots 9-16, you can't increase the amount of luxuries in the game.
IF you replace pics of luxuries, do it with luxurysmallicons.pcx too (it's in the \city screen folder).

The slots 17-36 can either be used as bonus or else as strategic resources. If you use them as strategic resources, they won't show up in the city screen of the game, but at least it doesn't cause a crash (as with luxuries).

The slots 37ff. can be used, but they are invisible. So far the only reason I see in adding more than 36 "pics" is to create special mountains (mountain of doom, or something like this).

You can add as many resources as you want (as far as I know), using the same pic for different resources.
