RevB (Warlords) and RevC (Vanilla) available

The only bug fix mentioned in the release notes is the sound problems from the previous patch. It looks as though all other bugs/features remain. For example, I see there are reports that the latest patches still crash on MacBooks, and therefore appear not to be compatible with Intel Integrated Graphics.

I haven't noticed that crashes occur more often on my wife's MacBook than on my Mac Pro, so I don't think MacBook owners should feel singled out.

Are you saying that the RevB or RevC of Civ4 run OK on your wife's MacBook, and it isn't a MacBook Pro? Because so far Iv'e only seen reports that it crashes - instantly, not during a game.

Well, I just received what is probably my second or third kernel panic ever while playing Warlords, after about an hour of play. Research screen came up, and BAM! I'd send the log to Aspyr, but my PowerBook is unsupported. Other than that, patch seems to work fine. Maybe a little slower.

Oops, I should have been clearer. I haven't tried the latest patches on the MacBook yet, just on the Mac Pro (not MacBook Pro). I was just noting that since I've owned the program, crashes have occurred at about the same rate on both machines.

it did not fix the terrain/imaging bug were everything gets messed up

It doesn't claim to fix anything except the sound problems that were introduced in the previous patch.

Add me to the list of MacBook owners who can no longer play the game. Anybody have a link to the previous patch. The sound bug didn't bother me too much, but no longer being able to use the program, well that does irk me a teensy bit.

I just wanted to express my gratitude to the people who worked on this patch. Those annoying sound bugs that have been plaguing me are all but disappeared, I can now properly hear every sound in the game, instead of static noises.

This greatly improved my enjoyment of the game.

Its funny, how important sound is to game enjoyment. You wouldn't think of it being importand until you notice the difference.

Well its now completely unplayable for me. It keeps on messing up the colouring after some many turns (yes every time~!). Did not have had that problem before. Actually, its starting to piz me off big time, because its not only this game that gets messed up after patches, although it fixes other things.

I hope you are feeding these issues back to Aspyr. Don't assume they will fix anything just because you post it here.

Sound is there, but honestly I didn't notice an absence of sounds w/ the initial release. They did correct the text for GP announcements.

Nah, I dont bother anymore AlanH. It seems lately that the gameshouses forgot where they came from and are now only interested in taking our money.

dual G5 here and both vanilla and warlords seem to run fine.

Admittedly I'm running on underpowered hardware, but Rev. C has fixed the audio problems Rev. B introduced. I'm running on a Dual-1.42GHz Power Mac G4 (FW800) with an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro. Sometimes the music stops, I think because the system or disk is a bit slow by todays standards. With Rev C vanilla is pretty playable, although opening a city is not as fast or smooth as I'd like.

Late in the game turns do slow down a bit more than I'd like, and jumping around to every unit seems to take longer, but I don't think it's unplayable at all.

In contrast, Warlords is much slower, although I haven't tried patch B for it yet.

My biggest complaint is that on my gorgeous 23" Apple Cinema display, I can't zoom out as much as I'd like without getting clouds. After all, I bought the display so I could see far in all directions. :-)

i think there is an option to turn clouds off

AlanH, whats the probability that the Blue Marble is the reason for the glitch?
Been in touch with Aspyr, but they dont recall earlier problems like mine.

I dunno if you remember, but in the Vanilla version there was a simular problem actually. Was there a solution provided then?

I've no idea whether BlueMarble could cause your colour problems, though I suspect it's unlikely.

Can you post a screenshot? Is this the strange video effects when you pan out to globe view? If so, I seem to recall that was caused by some video buffering problem, where the last leaderhead image was stored as a layer and superimposed in magnified form on the globe image, and I thought it had been fixed in a patch. Maybe it's specific to a video card and/or CPU/hardware config.

PS. You could eliminate BlueMarble from suspicion if you play without it, or you could try using the low res version of it. Does the colour effect disappear if you quit the game and relaunch?

It occurs mostly after/during an autosave, but not nescesarry. When I zoom in and out, then it doesnt go away like the black frost thingy. The funny part is that I never had it like this before in the Vanilla version (ok, only twice) and the Warlords 1.0 version.

I'll be back..

This is what it appears to look like..
And mostly no, it doesnt go away, it stays or it comes back few turns after..
