RevB (Warlords) and RevC (Vanilla) available

i've got the newest patches, this happens to be warlords. it's on my 2.0ghz mbp with 2gb ram. this just started with the new patches.

Macbook Pro 2.4 Ghz

Crashing constantly; sometimes on first load into a map. I sent the logs to Aspyr. Here's hoping.

I am going to go back to non-patched versions, see if that fixes anything.

From Aspyr:

At this time, we are aware of issues that occur on the new MacBook Pros with nVidia GeForce 8600 video cards. This machine was released a very short time ago, with a brand new video card, with a brand new type of chipset, to the Macintosh computer line, and is officially unsupported with all games at this time.
However, we are working to resolve this and to bring affected games up to speed. Though no timeframe is available right now, we hope to be able to provide full support to the new MacBook Pro in the near future.

Have a good day!

I installed the MBP update v1.0 yesterday and my issues with Civ 4 seem to have gone away....

The MBP update seems to have done the trick for me as well. Things are now running quite nicely on my MBP 2.2GHz.

Huzzah!!

Highlight the application icon in Finder and select Get Info. If you have installed the current patches correctly, the version information should look like:

For vanilla: 1.61 (25318)

For Warlords: 2.08 (25430)

The numbers in brackets are the Aspyr build numbers, and they change when you patch the software.

That's rev A, if I recall correctly.

Where is your game software installed?

Use Spotlight to look for Civilization IV. My guess is that you may have moved your application, and the updater didn't correctly identify your installed copy. If so, it has created a new folder somewhere else on your hard drive with the correct Civ4 software in it, and Spotlight will find it. If so, you'll probably need to merge the contents of that folder into your working copy.

I copied the Civilization IV folder from the DVD to the Applications, which is pretty standard, I believe. I did, however, have a copy in the Trash, so it may have tried to update that. Weird. I'll reapply the patch after I finish my current game.

Thank you.

That's very similar to my experience, which is why I suggested this. I think the Trash copy may well have confused the updater.
