Revolutionary War Scenario 1st Release! A Must Play!

Hmm....Okay that might work.
What about a city list and civ placement in North America? Would you happen to have either of these?

Recommended Revolutionary War Time United States Cities:

Washington
New York
Philadelphia
Boston
Charleston/Charlestown
Richmond
Baltimore
Trenton
Hartford
Providence
Portland
Portsmouth
Savannah
Albany
Troy (May overlap too much with Albany.)
Harrisburg
Brooklyn/Brookline (May overlap too much with New York, depends on map size. Brooklyn and New York were once separate cities. [Interesting tidbit: When New York and Brooklyn merged in the late 1800s, they were the largest two cities in the Americas and third and fifth, respectively, in the world!])
Norfolk
Marblehead (May overlap too much with Boston and Portsmouth.)
Paterson (May overlap too much with New York and Trenton.)
Atlanta (Atlanta was NOT a big city at this time. In fact, Savannah, not Atlanta, was the original capital of Georgia.)
Williamsburg

Optionals:

Dover
East Hampton
Camden (Overlap with Philadelphia)
Annapolis
St. Mary
Jamestown
Springfield
Newport (Overlap with Providence)
Alexandria (Overlap with Washington)
Albemarle (It's in northern North Carolina)
Beaufort (It's in southern North Carolina)

EDIT: If you can squeeze in Yorktown, it would be a nice addition.

Spanish Florida (Anglicized):

Saint Augustine (capital)
Saint Marco
Fort Saint George
Pensacola
(and, laughably enough,)
Cape Canaveral

French Louisiana (Anglicized):

New Orleans (Mississippi River)
Chetimachas (Mississippi)
Akansis (Arkansaw ^_~) (Mississippi)
Kaskakias (Mississippi)
Saint Francois Xavier (on Lake Michigan, north of modern Chicago)
Fort Pontchartram (NOT Pontchartrain. On Lake Saint Clair, near modern Detroit)

I love proving people wrong.

1. New York City, NY 1,515,301
2. Chicago, IL 1,099,850
3. Philadelphia, PA 1,046,964
4. Brooklyn, NY 806,343

This taken direct from the 1890 US census (Brooklyn was annexed in 1894 I think).

Brooklyn never got higher than #3, which occurred in 1860, 1870 and 1880 (Philadelphia was #2 all 3 times).

Paterson is northwest of NYC, and nowhere near Trenton.

Troy is only a few miles from Albany.

Atlanta didn't exist in 1775-1783. Augusta and Savannah were the two main cities of Georgia.

Camden is across the river from Philadelphia.

Washington DC did not exist in 1775-1783. It didn't come about until the late 1790's.

The Spanish owned Louisiana (the area stretching from the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains) from 1762 to 1802. The French owned it briefly from 1802 to 1803. It is fully Spanish territory during the American Revolutionary War.

I would recommend the British outpost of Vincennes (in modern-day Illinois) be added if its not in already.

My apologies Johann.
WinAce Archiver is needed to extract the files from an .ace file.

Cuivienen-
You might want to check out the scenario, I have most of the cities in it that you mentioned, along with some others I did some research on.
Now, if everyone agrees, and doesn't mind that the scenario will take a little bit longer to load, then I can add French Louisiana and Spanish Florida. Just a sidenote, the map is good size, but not huge, so I don't have a lot of room to work with.
However, when I was asking Mobilize for city list and civ placement, I was specifically referring to the Cherokee nation, as that is unfamiliar territory for me. If anyone else has that kind of information, it would be greatly appreciated.

NateDawgNY, it is Spanish Louisiana during this time period.

I hope you will read my post, which points out some errors made by cuivienen.

My apologies Procifica, I didn't catch that part.
I'll have to double check, but I believe I have modern day Illinois controlled by the Iroquois.

Johann-
There was a specific reason I made the Tories a different civ. In order for them to build units, they have to be a civ. It also adds more flavor to the scenario.

The british and Tories though were pretty much one and the same.

Illinois should be controlled by other Indian tribes (I forget off top of head which). The British though did have a couple outposts in this region.

The Iroquois mostly were in western New York/Pennsylvania.

And once again I assure you that the territory from the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains was completely Spanish (as was the modern-day southwestern USA). Florida come to think of it was British territory from 1763 to 1783. This should be changed too.

Procifica-
While the British and Tories did share similiar sentiments, and would do well as one civ, I chose not to do so. My main reason for this was that I wanted Tory specific units. I would not be able to do this if they were just British.

According to the maps I have, the Iroquois territory also extended in Canada as well.

Regarding the Mississippi territory and Florida:
Do you have access to information as to where the necessary research can be done? ie...names of settlements and etc.

NYC actually was the temporary capital of the USA from 1789 to 1790.

Agreed though, Philadelphia was the seat of government during the Revolutionary War and should be their capital.

I said Iroquois were mostly in western New York/Pennsylvania. Yes they did extend into Ontario as well around Lakes Erie/Ontario.

Tribes in modern-day Ohio/Indiana included Delaware, Shawnee, Miami, Seneca, Ottawa and Wyandot.

Western North Carolina/eastern Tennessee was Cherokee primarily, while the Creeks were spread throughout western Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi (modern-day, the latter two were not known as such during this time period).

The Huron was in Michigan and the part of Ontario bordering Michigan.

West of the Mississippi you had various tribes, the Sioux being among the most important in the modern-day Dakotas and Nebraska, as well as in Minnesota and Iowa.

You still could have "Tory units" with them being British, just designate them as such.

Tory civilization dosen't make sense, they were british in all the senses

Metacomet-
Using that same argument, you could say that all colonists living in America were British.

Moving right along-
I am working on updating the scenario.
I have merged the English, Scottish, and Tory civs, added the outpost of Vincennes, reflected British control of Florida, Spanish control of the Louisiana territory, and added the Cherokee as a civ.

It's taking a little while as I am working out all the details.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all!

Your changes sound good, Nate. Will be nice to see the updated version.

NateDawgNY,

I tried to load the scenario and got an error:
File Not Found
art\advisors\Louis XV_all.pcx

I am not sure how to fix it.

Also, just looking at the map I would think that it would be nice to reduce the scope of the map (not the size) to only include N. America and maybe Europe. Then you would be able to include more detail and exclude alot of land area that is irrelevent to the topic of the scenario.
