RevolutionDCM for BTS

The attached file fixes all the autolog issues I have encountered so far. I've got all the autolog entries enabled and am no longer getting python errors. No doubt more autolog issues will arise and I'll squash those bugs as they emerge. If you don't need the autolog, forget this patch. Will include this patch "officially" in next RevDCM release
Cheers.

Just in case anyone asks, It goes in the Mods\RevolutionDCM\Assets\Python\Contrib directory. Thanks for a fabulous mod:bowdown: and for posting patches quickly

@Phungus
The variable is pointing to Revolution.ini and pulling the modifier from it, for use further down in Revolution.py. Also posted this at your thread on Revolutions.

@Cripp
Thanks!

Cheers.

Ran into a problem, I changed the GlobalDefinesAlt.xml to set SS_ENABLED to 1 but when the game loads
Spoiler :
Civ4ScreenShot0005-2.jpg

Do I still need the SS addon or is it built-in now?

and when the game is playing there's no civs/scores
Spoiler :

In the bottom corner it only shows a barely visible clear box.

@Cripp
Super Spies is now enabled via the RevDCM tab in the CTRL-ALT-O game config screen. No need to change GlobalAltDefines any more. The game config will overwrite your manual settings if you try. For you latter error, sounds like you may have changed something manually. Reinstall RevolutionDCM (not BTS of course!) and try again from scratch I'd say. Everything in RevolutionDCM is now built in and controllable from CTRL-ALT-O.
Cheers.

Thanks glider1, was more complicated then I thought. But at least knowing that, I was able to figure out that I was on the wrong track, lol. Anyway, the new CityDistance Functions are working great, just balancing them now. Should have a working version up in a couple of hours.

@Cripp
No idea about it yet. Will need a paste here of the python error log text. I'm assuming you know how to do that by enabling logging in the ini file? This was also happening with 0.97?...In the meantime don't install the patches for RevDCM 1.00 in case something is going a miss with your file placement of those. They are really not important at this stage.

@Phungus
Jdog's out of contact but I will take a read of the code in any case. Distance penalty is interesting and critical.
Cheers.

@Cripp
Have taken a look at the log thanks well done. Not sure at this stage what is causing it. Here are questions for you:
1) Have you tried it on your other computer?
2) Can you play a game without problem, just straight BTS no mods, no BUG, no nothing. This is important to be able to do.
3) Are you mixing installations of BUG seperately from RevDCM?
4) Are you sure that the blue marble addition you have added is not swallowing up the last of your computers resources?

Here is the way to go without any more information:
1) Ensure that you can play a vanilla BTS 3.17 game without BUG
2) Do not install BUG seperately from RevDCM if you have done so, just in the debug phase
3) Only run BUG inside RevDCM and see how you go.
4) Try on your other computer
5) Uninstall blue marble

If this works, next step will be how to mix RevDCM bug with a "general" installation of bug for other mods or without other mods. The thing that has got me curious about BUG is this error in your computer:
DEBUG: BugInit - global context not ready

I'll keep thinking but not sure yet.
Cheers.

will try tonight

yes BTS plain works fine, no mods, bug, plain

3) Are you mixing installations of BUG seperately from RevDCM?
not any more.

4) Are you sure that the blue marble addition you have added is not swallowing up the last of your computers resources?
I'm running a e8400@4g with 4g ram, no problem resource wise

with the exception of #4 I've done all the above and still has the same problem, did uninstall bluemarble. your guess is good as mine, I'll go try it on my other pc tonight/tomorrow.

okay I tried it on a different computer, and it does seem to work okay. However, I cannot enable super spies through the control-alt-o BUG options

Super Spies is now enabled via the RevDCM tab in the CTRL-ALT-O game config screen.
.

That tab is not there, but under this system tab. It does say RevolutionDCM 1.00 BUG 3.6 [build 1695]. So I know it is a corrected version

Super Spies is under the RevDCM tab. There are a list of options, super spies is one of them.

@Cripp
Yep. RevDCM tab second tab along in the BUG options screen CTRL-ALT-O. This has happened before where it works for you on one computer but not the other. Scratch head. Your computer is a beast with 4GRAM so don't quite see what the problem is.
Cheers.

I think I figured what triggers DCM stack attack 'hanging' bugs (don't know if this is old news or not):

Captured city using DCM stack attack. Enemy has warlorded unit in the city (which dies). City capture fails to result in the "What to build" popup menu that should occur when capturing a city.
I'm guessing the problem is something with the interface from the DCM animation is preventing the city build window to be called.

I'm going to try uninstalling/reinstall BTS, updating video drivers (ASUS 9600gt) and load the mod with basic BTS. I'm determined to get this to work!

Yep. RevDCM tab second tab along in the BUG options screen CTRL-ALT-O. This has happened before where it works for you on one computer but not the other.

But on my other pc bringing up the BUG options didn't show that tab, just the standard BUG option. but I also had BUG as a regular on it too. Does the NoCustomAssets work with the DCM, wouldn't that disable the default BUG?

Ok, I uninstalled everything, updated graphics drivers, installed bts patched 3.17, unpacked RevDCM, loaded the game and everything was good. Working fine, BUG options showed DCM tab (very nice btw). Exit out and install BUG as regular and get 'bugcore - mod revDCM not initialized: removing". ok, change the nocustomassets = 1 and working ok, install bluemarble and bingo-bango:thumbsup::thumbsup: working great glad i got it figured out, now i'm off to play a game to see the new mod in action

I don't know if I'm the only person getting this, but it seems like in the past few versions, I'll get the message that a minor civ has organized into a full civ, but I won't actually be able to conduct diplomacy with that civ (and it will stay listed as "minor" on the scoreboard) until a while later. Is this happening to anyone else?
