RevolutionDCM with WoC

@Johny
Thanks for that. The sounds in WoC modules is generally dead don't you think? Zoro sounds don't work in WoC/Lite/RevDCMWoC despite all the logical and correct XML definitions and xml pointers not sure about NextWar. Not sure what's going on there. I'm expecting to hear the founding audio for the Zoro faith but it's dead in all three WoC incarnations.

The other thing is if it's ok with you might revert back to the WoC font files as they have supplied, which seems a hybrid combination of the BTS bonus font's for the original BTS bonuses plus extra's. Appreciate your efforts on the default set and the the 138 font set but the original bonus fonts seem easier to eyeball and recognise. The new one's look blurred and more obscure. However it seems necessary that RevDCMWoC also contain a bigger set of all the possible bonus's out there otherwise plug and play is broken with WoC modularisation like it is with audio. Correct?

Perhaps it is my eyes and not the fonts that are the problem.
Cheers.

The audio works. You need to define the correct path in the audio defines though.

You can remove all of the other bonus symbols in the fonts if you want. You just need the basic ones from the game to run RevDCM. The extra ones are all for the WoC.

The symbols are meant to look a little easier and not so sharp,

I hope you don't mind positive feedback;):
RevolutionDCM with WoC 2.0 works flawlessly!
I ran quite a few games with it (even with my changes merged in), and it was running like a dream!

Thank you very much, keep up the good work!

Here is a file with all of the audio added for Next War and the Zoro Religion. It has the paths as you had modules. It is not just the changes. Maybe you can see something that was different with what you tried.

Oh the second font file with the default symbols. It is the same as the WoC. Just wanted to make that clear. Just adjusted to show more resources to fix the bug zappara found.

Thanks avain.

Here is a better working fonts folder.

I decreased the religions to 138 in the fonts available, and decreased the corporations to 138.

I did this because the resources symbols were not loading simply because I think the game can take no more.

This should help a lot. I really do not believe anyway is going to need more than 138 religions or corporations.

Before I had my new default replacement symbols. I included the buttons with this for those. I had forgotten to add them in. Now if anyone does not like them I can take them out, and go back to default. But modders can do it theirself as well.

Anyway if there is something wrong that I missed with this please let me know.
Thanks for a quick fix :) I'll have to merge your new fonts to the icon files I'm working with in RoM 2.7 (designing lots of new production lines) so another fun evening ahead with gamefonts, yay!

About the RevDCM 2.0. Few other things I noticed: ctrl+shift+q doesn't trigger the pop-up. Same with AIAutoplay - am I missing something or are those now bugged?

I got also a question. Was the Unit Statistics' functions included in the dll? I noticed python wasn't. Just asking because Johny had those working in earlier RevDCM+WoC Lite merges. If the functions are still in the dll, I can grab the python files from WoC Lite...

In regards to those sounds, I think case by case is better way. In Rise of Mankind I've added couple sounds for new religions and for few unit effects but that's about it. Modular civs (in my Megapack) do have new sounds in some cases but those can be dropped out if needed.

I am not sure about the hotkeys. I will have to try it myself. I thought they were working before.

Unit Statistics is not in. The WoC Super Spies and WoC Inquisition are not in.

I tried the hotkeys, and they are working. So something probably mixed up in the python while changing things.

Here is 28 resources from the WoC and the Refinery improvement. Just let you guys decide what you want to do with them.

One thing I would like to ask is....

The Next War module has the new Next War civs in it.

It easy to remove them. But would anyone really wants those civs in the game as default?

Well if people want them removed you need to remove these 3 files.

NextWar_CIV4CivilizationInfos.xml
NextWar_CIV4DiplomacyInfos.xml
NextWar_CIV4LeaderHeadInfos.xml

I am going to give a link for nearly all of my Rapture mod religion art. It is 213mb so quite large. Too me some work to upload. It is not all functioning as in Rapture of course. Just art. I thought maybe someone might use it for whatever they want.

https://worldofciv.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/wocrapture/Assets/RevDCM Rapture Art.7z

This is not meant to be a module as normal. This is just for those who want to use it for their own modding purposes. But if you want to see 94 religions with the fonts they are in here.

@Johny
Thanks for the efforts on the audio and fonts. Will check it out. Yeah I would like Next War dissassembled to take out the wanky civs and to restore it back to the U.N. I can do this if you are busy. Considering that civs can now be plugged in via WoC, it makes sense to do this.

@Zappara
Unit statistics is not in RevolutionDCM but it is in Johny's WoC lite RevolutionDCM. The RevolutionDCM DLL contains the same as it always did except for minimum WoC requirements. Unit statistics could go into RevDCM at some stage but it has a really large footprint in the SDK and beyond. Time will tell.

Cheers.

Probably easier for you to knock the new civs and leaders from Next War if you resubmit it.

Should I make some database or SVN? Or just keep sending up like this? I am little confused as how we should be keeping these for people to use.

I would be interested in having a place for people to submit there work as well. Because if this grows there will be work done in WoC modular. RoM modders are already very busy for example. Just think it would be nice to get things in one spot.

Yeah you are correct, something needs to happen for a repository of RevDCM WoC components. It does really need to be a database of some kind. It is important to be able to split the components into categories and sort by star ratings. Will do a bit of research on the side and check it out, but feel free to jump in if you have found a good solution.
Cheers.

Well, in that case just grab it from my mod (the WoC version), I have it disassembled as far as it can be in there, no wanky civs and the UN is back too :)

Ok thanks.

I know we can use the WoC SVN if needed, but TAFirehawk would need to add whoever would be submitting files. If a lot of people are submitting I see problems. I could try to maybe create another one. But again the public side of wish I can find a solution.

What about project for it here? Bad idea? It might help then because could make subforums to split up various mods. At least that can remove the need to necessarily have an outside database by people submitting there files like usual.

Well anyway I would like to hear feedback from people who would be using this as well.

@ mamba

Sure could work but should have default Next War and Diversica as well? I mean I see no problem with your stuff. I just am wondering if anyone would want just the plain version.

Edit again: I really see a point of using Diversica stuff since it is already split up in pieces. If people want the original it is not hard for them to do it.

I tried the hotkeys, and they are working. So something probably mixed up in the python while changing things.
Yup, noticed that they are working. I found out what I was missing - it was the right shift key, I think I've killed it from my keyboard and need to get new one... I need shift key too much when modding Civ 4

I am putting this one file for easier reference. It has both fonts the replaced and the default. I cleaned up the template. I saw some mistakes I did in the template only. Sorry for the template confusion if any.
