RFC Classical World

yes arbitrary and totally untested. I will test the UP to make sure it is indeed working. I was thinking that espionage and tech stealing would be necessary as well.

Tried a Tibetan game. Quite interested in terrain settings and their UP. By “Ancient tea route”, One can only send defensive Marksmen to Shu province. Cavalry have to go through the heartland of China. That may bring diverse strategies...

However, UHV3 always achieved automatically, without any endevours. And UHV1 to control Burma seems quite difficult. No one except elephants and javelins can go across jungles. But javelins are too weak towards heavily defended Dali, and ivory is hard to get as well. I tried to run Patronage to massive culture-bomb Shu, attempting to peacefully conquer Dali, but also failed.

thanks for the feedback on Tibet. I haven't played them yet as I am concentrating on the early civs. apologies for the slowness but it is progressing.

the plan was to have python change the terrain and allow access to and from the Tibetan plateau around the time of the Tibetan spawn. I will try to do that today.

interesting that Buddhism was the world's number 1 religion. when did that occur? I was planning to include some special measures to assist the spread of Christianity and Islam when they are founded.

about the third Maccabean goal: the text and the code were from 2 different goals. one is be the first to discover Theology, the other to conquer 4 cities with Jewish populations. the Theology one is more historical since they did found Christianity, so maybe I will go back to that. the conquering goal makes their UP (spreading Judaism) a bit useless.

Perhaps around AD720, after trying to spread Buddhism to some Chinese cities. Both Tang and Gupta had large populations. Maybe that was the reason.

The following screeshots come from my second game.

changed the Au Lac goals a bit and opened a corridor to Tibet just before they (the Tibetans) spawn.

Looks like Worldbuilder built it ;)

I did not WB it in.

do the whale boats always appear in the same tile?

added many new east asian city names thanks to thrash4ever.

fixed the whaling boats. was supposed to be a mine to make Nan Yue a tougher opponent for human-controlled Han.

It is a little hard to find things with the current tech tree ;) I spent 5 min in 220 AD start trying to find some techs, only to discover that they were "hiding" in the last era!:crazyeye:
When are you planing to start with F6 screen? :please:

Victory conditions display for Satavahana is incomplete.

I have a bit more free time in the next couple of weeks than I have had recently. I will try to do something about the tech tree display. the other priority is the Jin spawn/3 kingdoms era.

fixed the Satavahana victory screen.

discovered why the Chinese refuse to trade their silk: its the silk merchants corporation. I will try to find a way to fix that.

Maybe the Maldives should be an one tile island with independent Malé representing the Buddhist Kingdom of the Maldives?
Why is Christmas Island named "Kampong",the Dutch discovered it in the 17th century?

I included this name, after copying it from RFCA. As this name is used for the same civ in both mods, I thought I could use it safely, because I thought it's correct in RFCA. So I didn't bother to check the historicalness of the name. If it's wrong in this mod, it's wrong in RFCA as well.

the tech tree has been reorganized visually.

Wow! Great progress! I thought you could never fit them on one page vertically :)

I thought every tech tree must have Future Technology -- we can call it "Middle Ages" or some other name....

EDIT: sprt could you please check your last commit -- when I load Celts the game crashes to the desktop right after "Finishing"
