Sorry about that, it is the end of the semester and I have a ton of work. I was planning on releasing a new version today. I mainly working on the tech costs. I hope I have them figured out (or close to).
I guess I can send you the tech tree xml files since I don't expect to change anything in the .dll for now. I also made some changes in the RFCBalance, trying to fix the tech rate of different nations.
Jessiecat also mentioned something about the Genoa UHV being "bugged".
After this, I will probably leave the work on the mod for some time. It would be nice if sedna can start to keep track of the versions. IMHO we are converging rapidly to beta. I can still make contributions (small ones) and I can edit C++ until right before Christmas. Then I will be back in January.
It would work well if you could send me the xml files for the Tech tree and RFCBalance.py when you're done with them, and I'll post a new version and take charge of posting new versions for the near future. I've made a bunch of little changes to files so it's easier that direction.
I agree with your comment about converging on something I would call a beta. My definition is when we have most major features of the game present in some form. At this point, we still definitely need:
Barb invasions are a must, "Corporations" I think can wait for a while. Judaism is not hard, just a building that gets randomly build (and we have to figure a way to stop it from being build normally like the plague). Papal State would require major work, we can easily add an AI that controls Rome, but the extra effects/interaction would be hard.
I will post the XML and Python files probably around 6 tonight (US Eastern time, -5GM).
My first opportunity to actually play the game for a while. On the Dec 9th test version I played as Bulgaria. The game got really slow by around 900 AD, almost a minute between turns, and my computer's normally quite zippy with Civ. Can others who have played with this more confirm if the mod is normally this slow, or is this something we introduced in the last version?
Don't worry, there's plenty of optimization left to do, so it won't always be this slow.
How do mean "normal"? Do you mean its normal to be slow? I always play on Monarch and it doesn't really begin to slow down for me until about 1400. Though I once had it slow down between 1000 and 1200 and then speed up again. A fairly fast computer and lots of ram help. I've got a 5200mgz. Athlon Dualcore and 3 gigs of Ram.
Speed usually isn't an issue for me until really late in the game.
Yes, that's what I actually meant. I have a good laptop (2G RAM, NVIDIA 8200) and it slows down so, at 1100 at Monarch it takes around 2 minutes to complete a turn.

You shouldn't be too slow with 2 gigs and good video card (better than mine which is only a NVIDIA 7600) unless your mother board is a lot slower. How many mghz?
Probably. Laptops seldom use more than 3500 mghz. even if with a recent Dual Core model. That's why mine (at 5200mghz.) is going to be somewhat faster. And the extra Ram helps a lot too, which you might be able to upgrade. The BTS 3D graphics need some fairly powerful specs. to run at a decent speed. Though yours is still much faster than the minimum specs. So you should be OK.
Just started up a game in Dec9. Noticed that Cordoba is now called Qurtubah. Interesting. Does this mean that all the Spanish cities will have Islamic names?

Well, the AI Cordoba is is getting the spellings right then. Good to know my Arabic CityName map works as it should. (Check out what Valencia and Seville are called in Arabic as well.)
Looking into Venezia, I notice that they have not moved their extra settler out of the city, nor has the Catholic missionary converted the pagan city to Catholicism.
