[RFC] Rome, the Conquering Empire

GO IMPERIAL EAGLE OF GERMANY!!!! (Not Hitler, Bismarck was a much better ruler, but the best German Ruler would probably be Kaiser Wilhelm.)
But Rome is good too, especially against Greek "nationalists".

But that will not start here like on the France one.

Greece hasn't risen up against me since I crushed them into powdered dust. Portugal is acting like a complete teenager though, always rebelling against rightfull authority.

Well? what's wrong with that? RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE!!!!!

Today the members of the Berlin-Ulm Pact free ourselves from the shackles of Roman tyranny. We will hold back all that try to oppress us. Long live the Holy Roman Empire.

The newly formed Holy Roman Empire created by Frederick the Founder seeks to crush Roma on it's northern borders as it fights the French curs. Such highly rude behavior in war shall be punished.

Severely.

More French dogs try to attack the glory that is Rome. General Marcus Arelius orders the French dogs to be given no quarter once the attack begins.

From the frozen shores of Scandinavia, word comes that the Viking people have formed into a cohesive nation following the rise of Ulf the Falcon.

Raiders out of the Sahara march on Carthage. The threat rouses the Praetorian units stationed in the city to take up arms once more.

The first large scale banking institutions are established by a group of wealthy Roman merchants. These banks shall prove very profitable in the future.

The Arabians refuse to surrender peacefully. Do they not know what is going on at the French front? The emperor Tiberius II vows to grind the Caliphate of Arabia into dust.

Soon after that, the last French stronghold at Rheims is annihilated and the garrison slaughtered to the man. Every Gaul in French territory that rose up in arms against the Empire is crucified on the road from Rheims to Roma. This lesson will be known as the Great Gaulic Purge, an event in which four million Gaul-Frenchmen perish. A further one million civilians and two million soldiers have died on the French side. Losses for Rome number close to nine hundred thousand civilians and soldiers.

Spain became more of a horrible neighbor as time went on, and the emperor Tiberius II sought to gain the land and riches of the Earth by conquering Iberia. War shall come to the peninsula. And soon.

Roma makes good on it's threat to destroy Spain. Barcelona is captured by the 3'rd Army under the command of General Harsus Racchus.

Civ4ScreenShot0175.jpg

To mock the Spainards and to celebrate the victory at Barcelona, a giant tower begins construction in Rome. The tower is built on boggy ground however, and begins to list heavily as construction goes on.

Rome cuts a bloody swathe through the Spanish countryside as the March to Madrid begins.

Madrid falls so easily that the Romans hardly believe it and expect a trap to be set. None has been created however.

The successes of the Roman legions upon the Spaniard front has sent the Romans into a patriotic frenzy, as they believe that Roma is unconquerable in it's quest to desecrate all that is holy to other empires. Roma seeks to capture all that stands before them, and the Spanish seem to prove their ideology. There is just one problem.

Heavy losses on the German front have sent the Roman legions there in a downward spiral in terms of morale. Mutinees are common, and the Berlin-Ulm pact allies seem to enjoy the pain that they are causing to Roma.

Scholars create the first infograph charting the Empire's progress and growth against other's on a ranking system.

I think sickness over the balance between health and sickness causes that, but that's what happens when you priroritize industrialization over public health and sanitation.

Subpost and great story!

Thank you General, I cherish your praise :).

In the meanwhile, hammering out TWO updates for tomorrow because I am completely unbusy with anything.

Scholars compilation has encouraged emperor Maximaius IV to increase the nation in the sectors that were deemed lesser than other nations. This effort will become known as the Golden Age of Construction.

Efforts on the Spanish front march on as the invasion of Iberia continues.

Roman forces finally triumph and take Berlin. The amount of blood spilt and the bodies strewn about can not be measured in words. They can however be measured in statistics.

165,000 Germanic soldiers dead
300,000 wounded

92,000 Roman soldiers killed
100,000 wounded.
