Tijdverdrijf= was a little later than that.

Hint: they both took place in battles off the British Isles, although they weren't fighting each other.

I'm thinking of the Battle of Gravelines, but you said that the Tijdverdjrijf fought in the 17th Century, not the 16th Century.

San Martin was a Portuguese galleon used as the Spanish flagship by the Duke of Medina Sedonia, that led the Spanish armada against England in 1588.

Tijdverdrijf was the flagship of Michiel de Ruyter, the Dutch admiral who sailed up the Thames in the seventeenth century and burned the English navy in the Raid of Medway. It is historically known as the single greatest disaster suffered by the Royal Navy.

I did know Tijdverdrijf was the ship Michiel de Ruyter used to burn the English fleet in port Pity I didn't check this thread earlier.

The "double storyline" idea is just fantastic. The better way of still telling a "textbook-style" RFC story while keeping the action flavor of a narrative.

I don't know... It's been a while since I "studied" the history of The Netherlands.. My interests has shifted the last couple of years from.. Dutch History to the French Revolution and Napoleontich wars to the Roman Empire and it's currently shifting between the last two and some other things

Ours goes Civil War and WWII, Ancient and Classical, Medieval, US History, then some other courses, like Russian, French, Cold War, etc.
