Rhye's Catapult

Could having Mongolia spwan earlier help to reign in the chinese?

Ok, this time I played a bit more. Duke difficulty. England was occupied by the Greeks with Corinth, so I had space only in Scotland and West Ireland to settle. I built the other cities in Scandinavia, before Bismark decided he hated me and attacked with a stack of troops in Finland. The culture of Corinth was enough to be a problem for my city in Ireland. Damn Greeks...

Riker, didn't Corinth filp to you at start?

I launched a game as America - it was 27 mins to get to there :)
But it did... all I want is data for Rhye...

Looking at the map I saw that there is no Rome, no Arabia,
only a one-city Persia
What we have is a big Greece and a quite developed Russia...

EDIT

Here we go...

China, ah...

SCIENCE

England, Japan and India follow the Big Guy with 50-55%

HAMMERS
(total hammers / number of cities)

France could get a 63%,
but it means a total of 90, opposed to nearly 400 of China...

Greece, who is quite big this time, has a 48%, with 137 in total,
quite on par with Egypt...

soma, thank you but I've got enough data. I will need more in the next version.

Corinth probably didn't flip because Greece remained with just 2 cities and bypassed the trigger. I removed this condition. (and give them back the normal galley rather than the different UNITAI one, so that it won't happen again)

Ok... I started a game on duke difficulty with the germans...
the years until 0 went smooth more / less.. I settled a city in hamburg and a city a bit east of berlin.. The romans were aggressive and declared war on me a coupple of times...
About 600 AD, barbarians began to rule the world...! They were everywere, and in 800 AD Egypt was destroyed.. China was destroyed in 900 AD, and Asoka in 1000 AD - All by the barbarians... I had 10 axemen in munich who barely suvived the "barbarian crusade"...
Spain was founded in 900 AD (with no techs), along with France and England..
I stopped playing in 1500 AD, when rome, greece and peter declared war on me...

All in all, a very strange game, where barbarians were very powerfull..

I will try another game later, where I hopefully, will be able to build some buildings as well.. looking forward to that... :)

Kwan, did you start as Germany BC 3000?
Surely that was the old 038 version

I advice waiting for the next version, I hope Rhye will give it this night

ah yeah... i see... i'm a slow poster... sorry about that...

i'll wait for the next version then.. :)

Riker, didn't Corinth filp to you at start?

nope... But I think Rhye gave an explanation of this arcane

When we will have a new version ?

I ran a 038b version as Greece on King level. Ran smoothly (other than the arctic lion), and I noticed than upon spawnign the AI euro civs received techs just fine.

Although King is quite a challenge even as greece. :)

Last test before posting the new version (v0.40A) which will feature:

- Customized difficuly levels: just 3 (which names will be decided later) but will be different from civ to civ. Your reports now will help tuning these values, both for the AI and the human player (but for the human it depends on the choice of 3000BC or late start).
- Customized AI unit weight from civ to civ (more than just the XML modifier)
- Corrected tech rate
- Added barbarians in north America
- Minor changes to the map (including Byzantium)
- Fixed Arabian spawn bug
- Removed a condition for city flipping
- Added fishing and sailing to France, England and Spain
- Buddhism and Hinduism moved to better match founding date

a flashback: England starts with 2 fishing boats but without fishing

I started my play-test (I forget which version, whichever one I had installed.) as England. Fun game, I control all of Britain and Ireland, and upper France and Catalonia. But, France spawned in a small space between Catolonia and France. Then, the Greek civilization was destroyed, and I grabbed Athens, and the Romans grabbed Sparta.

I currently have the lead, China is right behind me, then followed by Egypt. I have three major allies, Germany, Russia, and Spain, who still won't trade with me.

When India collapsed, China and Persia grabbed all the cities. No one has grabbed Mongolia's cities yet. I also have sent an explorer to North America.

In 040A do human plaers start at 4000bc or at civ spawn time?
