Rhye's of Civilization - the fastest loading mod Expanded - PART II

Yesterday, me and my girlfriend played the multiplayer map of Europe, and after a while, new cities I conquered would never give any culture, even though I built libraries and temples.

Here's an example, in the first screenshot it is 1528AD and in the bottom left, you can see my library, giving 3 culture per turn. Total is 0 (I have had it for a while though).

In the second screenshot, it's 1536AD, and still no culture, WTH?

Also, as I conquered more cities, some of the old citites not producing culture would seemingly spontaneously start generating all of a sudden. There was seemingly no method to the madness, as some never started producing, and others did after conquering a varying number of new towns.

Can anyone explain this?

Game ended with me having 24% land mass and 72% population (1% short of victory, as a town culture-flipped back in the final round and derived me of victory, it was quite intense!)

One question: I'm playing Rome and I've got a problem woth the plain tile near the Vesuvio, the one without wines. It is irrigated and roaded but it still produces only 1 food, 1 shield and 0 comm. I don't remember how it was before the improvement, but the road should at least give 1 commerce if I am not wrong. Is that normal?

OK, once and for all, as I've the permission, I can tell you now.
I'm already working on some mods for Civ4 that should be included in the game. Including the Earth map, of course :)

I love you Rhye! This is by far the best thing I have heard about Civ4. What am I gonna do till it comes out? (Goes off to start weeklong celebration.)

You could always open up the editor. Notice in the "Resources" tab some extra spaces in the dropdown box... those "blanks" are resources with names like " " and " " etc. and some have requisite advances. A few are dropped in territory where those Civs experienced either a sudden boost or decline historically. I don't want to give anything away, so I wont elaborate or even make sense. :)

Yes, but a road gives +1 commerce. I dont't think a tile may have a start of -1

@ Riker
Actually there are two of the space resources that have a negative commerce bonus. So yes, it is possible. One of them comes with invention, but the other is always there.

@Rhye
Is there anything else you can tell us about your Civ4 involvment? Are you working part-time or full-time?

Rhye, hey you are in Civ IV! :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

I think you are not allowed to say ANYTHING about the game at this point so I do not even ask...

But perhaps you can aswer these (or some of them):

- Are you testing the game, too, beside making mods?
- Do they ask for your opinion about the gameplay elements? Can you give advice on it? Suggest ideas?
- Are you making "only" an earth map, or do rule version for it, aming it a Rhye's Version?
- Are you working on any scenario like they had in C3C?

- Do you think things go as planned and scheduled, will it be released on time (November)?

WILL CIV 4 BE AS GREAT AS WE ALL HOPE FOR IT TO BE???
(hehh, I know you can't answer this last one but I just could not helpp myself asking it...)

:)

I can't say anything about the game or about my formal terms, sorry :)
In this moment I'm outside any testing and my efforts are aimed to the mods. Though it's a limited work, I'm spending the whole day on them recently because there's no much time left (sorry, RGC4 will be delayed to mid-september).

I haven't decided anything about a rule change for the Earth map yet. It will depend on the tests.
All I can say about the Earth is that it will be similar to my kind of maps (especially the 134x130), but more accurate in some areas.

How about you PM me ;)

Seriously, this is incredibly awsome Rhye. I'm sure you'll do a great job.

Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you. I took the liberty of opening a thread in the Civ 4 section to tell all of those people about you Rhye.

you always learn something new....

I really really really wanna know if there is a production specialist! Ahhhh i wish you could tell me!

If theres not, first thing im changing is adding one!

Before we all go off on a Civ IV tangent together, may I point out that the main reason Rhye hasn't told us before was probably so he wasn't bombarded with suggestions and questions about the game? Although I AM very relieved and eager to find out how, I think I'll give ya some space on that one, Rhye. :goodjob: In the meantime, I'll continue my war with Japan in ALL SAVES when I get back, see the sig. :D
