RifE 1.20 Bug Thread

Non-living units are supposed to be immune, yes. Did he have a promotion making his followers less likely to defend?

Nope. He was far from the strongest unit in the plot, Mimics, Soldiers of Kilmorph. He wasn't the weakest, I had a Legate there too. There were even living units weaker and stronger than the Commander; Baby Spiders and Spider Swarms.

I think Blight is bugged again. As you can see from the screenshot, my elven city of Froihk with a population of 9 was hit with Blight totaling 42. The city was brought down to a pop. of 1 very quickly. My other cities got hit equally as hard.

I checked the World Builder and it appears that all cities are getting hit equally as hard, not just me. However, again, the formula for calculating Blight appears to be off in this version.

UPDATE: All 6 of my cities were reduced to a pop of 1, including two that had a pop in the high 20s. Also, I wrote too soon. I opened the WB and AI civs are all growing. None of their larger cities have been brought down to a pop. of 1 like mine. Very frustrating as before Blight hit I was in front by about 200 pts, but now I am behind by more than 300 pts with growth apparently still a ways off.

I'm not sure how I got it, but the Terrified promotion is broken. Says it wears off after 3 turns. My unit has had it for several 100 turns and counting. One less movement pt. and unable to attack.

couple of bugs from my current illian game,
I can't ascend auric, i finished the draw and researched omniscience.
Or is there anything i am missing?
Also the clan of embers are building city right next to each other without even 1 tile of space between them, all the other civ's where building city 's normally

So I think the balance issues with animals upgrading through combat have been discussed at great length, but there's another issue with the Archos (and I don't know what you want to do with their spider growth, as it's kind of the point of the civ-maybe make it exclusively upgrade with age?). They have a bunch of promotions available for Giant Spiders that are not available for Spider Swarms and Armies which come in two stages. I've had several attempts to use them in my current game, but the spiders upgrade before I can get the xp for another promotion.

Every plains you ever see, or just those on turn 1? If the latter, I think that's supposed to happen, the same way all the grasslands you can see on turn 1 turn into wetlands.

FlatXP, BetterRecon

In the western part of my area, I have two spiders (south of the former D'Tesh capitol) that have the you-don't-know-whose-team-we're-on promo still up. When one attacks a barbarian axeman from a tile where another barbarian axeman is standing, the game crashes. I can attack the first axeman with the other spider and the other axeman with the first spider on the following turn, so there's no issue with the two units involved. While I'm obviously not stuck here, if this thing happens among AI controlled units, it'd be a massive pain to track it down.

JujZe, that does sound like a problem then. I'm not good with technical details, but those who are will probably want to know which mapscript you're using, to verify that it is actually placing plains in the first place.

My mobile forts aren't.

Playing as the mechanos, I claimed a goblin fort early in the game, and got the chance to make it mobile. But It wont go anywhere. It says that it has 1 movement point, but it cannot use that.

?

Edit: Oh, wait, now I understand. They can only move on railroads. I'd love to have that explained somewhere in the game.

It should say "Route Native Railroad" on the unit and in it's pedia entry. ;)

Same game as above (and the overpowered Spider Swarms seemed fun until I choked out my economy). Anyway, I just used a great commander to build a fort and the same turn it was built, I noticed a massive swath of desert become plains (and says its headed toward grassland). While that much of that area used to be controlled by D'Tesh, not all of the plains now headed for grassland were, as far as I know. So maybe there's something up with reverting D'Tesh terrain?

yeah, had the same prob as Kanta, but i played as Kahd... it was about round 450. Many ctd´s, tried load an older savegame, but in the same turn always ctd. I just couldn´t play it

Kanta, MightyDragon, have you had a look around worldbuilder? There's a big problem currently with some barbarian units getting trapped inside borders (in my experience, mainly from having Animal Invasion turned off). At the stages of the game you're at, any place borders are just about to meet or just have met would be a good place to look.

On the animal upgrades, maybe someone could make a promotion that causes the upgrade and resets level and xp to 0 and promotions to none? So like a baby spider would need Combat 5 before it could promote/upgrade to Giant Spider, which would then need Combat 2 and Drill 3 in order to promote/upgrade to Spider Swarm, and so on. Or maybe give animals a 0 gold upgrade button that always available tech wise, but does that xp/level wipe.

Same game as above (FlatXP, BetterRecon)
CTD after end turn, right after I get the message that a spider has been born at my palace. It happened once a turn ago as the declaration of war trumpet was blowing, but after a reload, there was no war and no crash, so it may well be unrelated to either of those events. I have Animal Invasion on this time and don't see any barb units in bad spots, either.

One other thing, if you look at the stack with my great commander in it (just SW of my capitol) and hit the select all units button, one of the spiders doesn't get selected for some reason. I had an issue like this in my previous game where I couldn't select a hawk being carried by a Ranger, except by using the select all units button (and it for some reason selected only the hawk).

Edit2: Scratch the nonselecting spider issue. I hadn't negated the hidden nationality promo yet. That doesn't explain the hawk though (I'll upload a save if it happens again).
