ring-wing policies are based on LOGIC & Sound Economics

left-wing policies are based on childrish emotivism "i wanna here and now everything the wealthies produce"

all economists are more or less right-wing fanatics(adam smith, ricardo, milton friedman, heyek, von mises) the few who are leftist are on government paycheck(Stiglitz,Krugman) and f**king liars

5 step from liberal to libertarian:

1)drop out your liberal arts/sociology/philosophy/women study or all other useless humanistic degree where marxist "professor" do nothing except brainwashing you
2) read ayn rand
3) study REAL ECONOMICS( austrian economics )
4)get a real job and real world experience
5) congratulations now you are conservative(if religious) or smartass libertarian(if atheist)

And here I was thinking right-wing was only about making the rich richer and the poor poorer and left-wing was about giving everybody equal opportunities.
silly me :p

Right wing: less college degrees; left wing: more college degrees.

Right wing: More guns; Left wing: less guns.

You pick a side, in this war.

Step one never attempted. Taking economics.
2) read ayn rand
I have a collection of Ayn Rand's writings sitting on my shelf and I can safely say Ms. Rand is wrong on just about everything even basic history (the old Russian bat seems to have forgotten what sparked the transcontinental railroad and who funded the Apollo program, something she idolized). The few good conclusions she arrives are are the result of luck, not any sane mental processes.(If you are interested, it is Volume V of the Ayn Rand library, The Voice of Reason.)

Tell me, have you ever actualy read Adam Smith? In one particular passage he says something to the effect of regulation is not immoral when constructed to the benefit of the worker.

Right wing: less college degrees; left wing: more college degrees.

yeah in "humanities"....history,sociology,philosophy and all that worthless for hippies where marxist professor are free to brainwash their pupils with subjective rhetoric

when it comes to real degree like computer science, engineering and economics....

Cool. My soc-dem/keynesian political opinions are now valid because I'm thinking about a major in economics.

Adam Smith is probably quite left wing compared to, say, the Republican party these days. :mischief:

Come on Cutlass, choose a harder benchmark. Even Freidman is more of a pinko lefty hippy communofascist then the Republican party.:p

Sounds like you feel very strongly about this subject. Also, Ayn Rand is real economics?

Ah, Ayn Rand. The woman dependent on social security who also heaped admiring praise upon a despicable child-killer. Clearly what we need to guide our economic policies.

BTW what wonderful degree and job do you have, OP?

In before 'Ayn Rand is the greates philosopher ever and sokrates was a 'tard''.

Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel about leftists.

Richard Nixon hell, RONALD REAGAN would be considered to be on the left, when compared to the Republican party of today.

Both left-wing and right-wing economics are We$tern abominations designed by Catholico-Judeo-Masonic circles in Washington and Brussels in order to destroy Russia, her society and culture. The correct way, the Russian way, is achieving a symphony of strong authority and social compassion, where the people's spirit is protected both from the degenerative influence of materialist and rebellious Marxism and from the dehumanizing injustice of We$tern capitalism. And then, Russia shall lead the whole word in achieving that perfect societal symphony. I hope that CFC will accept my reasonable ideology that is deeply aware of the injustices and limitations of the modern word.

If I wanted to point out that my ideology is based on logic and not emotion I'd try to avoid name calling (<snip> liars), personal attacks against people I don't know (liberal arts), and allcaps (REAL ECONOMICS), but then I'm not a liberal.
I also wouldn't name an 18th century scottish social philosopher who argued for progressive taxation and public education and healthcare "more or less right wing fanatic".

Furthermore, as an European I'd like to add: liberal=leftist :rotfl:
