It would seem to me the countdown wouldn't be spam, as it serves a relevant purpose to the community, particularly members who don't check in more than once every couple days and aren't carefully keeping track. I would guess spam might be more along the lines of messaging the same countdown remainder multiple times per day, single word posts, talking solely about post count, etc. I would be curious if a mod might be able to clarify for us?

Moderator Action: One (repeat, one) post per day stating the current countdown to release is OK. Posts about post-count, or image-only posts (such as dancing bananas or similar joviality), are spam and may be deleted (and repeated violations may get infracted). And please remember that CFC rules prohibit public discussion of moderator actions, which includes public thread warnings to others that they risk moderator action for suspected violations of direction given in mod text.

Did anybody else notice that the English Wikipedia's featured article of the day is about the Canadian-Indian residential school system... which was just being talked about here? It's also very relevant to the Cree... Hmm...
Perhaps I'm not the only one who keeps wikipedia as his home page.
And at this point I'm believing the Chinese "leak" was intended. Firaxis wanted to give us something to feast upon for the holiday weekend since they couldn't do so officially because they were giving their developers some much needed time off. And we did feast upon the leak like a pack of hungry wolves.
They did not promise that we would get everything else "as usual", just that they would continue to reveal stuff over the next couple weeks (so, between then and January 3); they made no promise as to how much or when within this couple of weeks.
Now, given that there are five weeks left before the week of release, my best guess is the we will get one leader per week including this week. But we can't be sure.

I think so, too. But we don't know much about those yet, not even the Cree leader - only that they have a UI that gives production. And we know nothing for Chandragupta yet.
