[R&F] Rise and Fall General Discussion Thread

They had their place but with districts in 6 we're starting to run out of places to put things in the city radius

And Neighborhoods fill their place thematically.

I think Colonial outposts can only have 1 ring of hexes around them and can only have 1 district, they are unaffected by loyalty and have permanent open boarders. They can then turn into a full city once they have sufficient population and complete the a city project to turn into a full city.

This way, you can have colonies next to other civs without worrying about them being flipped, but they can't do much other then harvest resources. Because the colonial outpost can only work 1 ring of tiles, culture-bombing from the outpost won't allow you to take more then the 1st ring of tiles too. Once the city has completed the city project it can now work 3 tiles away and do everything a normal city can do; but it's now subject to loyalty pressure and could flip to a free city just as easily; also there could be a new caus belli which allows you to declare war on a Civ who has Colonial Outposts within 6 tiles of one of your cities with no warmongering penalty. So maybe you can demand colonial outposts be removed. (So as well as the a City project to turn a outpost into a city, there could be a project which you can run to get your "Colonial officer" back to settle a new colony, as well as a yeild of gold.)

I've been browsing some of the concept art for Civilization 6 and I found the following:

https://www.artstation.com/artwork/vO8ax

It is concept art for Nubia, Macedonia, and the Khmer. One of the images has something that I'm not sure fits those or anything else that we've seen yet. I wonder if they were thinking of taking the Indian alt leader in another direction? Is this in the game already?

We know they are diversifying the city art, particularly palaces and monuments. This might be the name of the Indian civ city art style.

It looks like a "city tile" which would be in the place of the Granary if you've not built a Granary yet.

I've been thinking about Carthage the city-state. Considering that Trade Routes have been moved to Markets and Lighthouses, the suzerain bonus for Carthage would be ultra powerful. If it isn't a civ in R&F, then the suzerain bonus has almost certainly been changed in some way. Maybe they moved the trade routes to barracks/stables, but more than likely they completely revamped it. Hopefully, it would be a naval bonus. The encampment trade routes didn't make much sense to me for Carthage.

So we've had a couple weird coincidences in the English Wikipedia lately regarding civilizations in Rise and Fall. Just want to mention today's Wikipedia features a city by the name of Qatna. It doesn't look like this city was part of any significant civilization, but it was conquered and sacked by the Hittites. So possible Hittites civilization? :) And the Assyrians also destroyed it.

I saw the shape of Georgia in my tea leaves today.

Tamar confirmed. :crazyeye:

I chose a random article, and (playing a variation on 5 clicks to Hitler) I found myself on the page of the Ottoman empire in only 4 clicks. Coincidence? Probably I think not.

Could be Patna since it was just revealed that it was Chandragupta's capital.

So has anyone created this "community wide" poll to ask if we want more DLCs after the expansion? And if this DLC can contain the more 'conflicted' Civs like Canada, Georgia and Venice/Italy?

Hopefully with good results, it might reasure or persuade Firaxis to do so. Hopefully there won't be bad results...

I'd prefer another expansion to more DLC. Or if it is DLC for it to be a set of Italian state civs, a set of African civs, Slavic civs, etc. Kinda like the Khmer/Indonesia duo but more than two civs.

DLC of additional leaders of existing civs would be interesting.

Map editor please...!
